This charming woman's hat is a "throw-back" to the early 1950s sheer hats in a "plate" or slightly "conical" style (medium brim with a very short crown). The difference and a nod to the present is the jaunty tilt to the side provided by the attached headband, emulating a British fascinator. This style would be suited to most face shapes and would provide a lovely feminine (and flirty!) appeal to anyone who wears it.I ordered the pinkish color which is lovely deep rose trending towards burgundy but upon wearing is softened by the sheerness of the polyester coil weave (which produces the brim and crown). The overlapping of the coil almost gives the hat a mild striped effect - a nice design mimic by the ribbon trimmed brim and the circlet of ribbon surrounding the limited crown.Construction, not unexpectedly, is made of lightweight and inexpensive materials, both in the lace/ fabric/ and wire frameworks, though I was pleasantly surprised to see most connections made via sewing/ stitchwork. On inspection there appear to be only 2 glued areas: the ribbon w bow and the headband. These limited glued spots seem quite sturdy, and the gluing done appropriately well so as to hide the joinery.The misfortune with this hat is manufacturer's choice of packaging and the limited memory & diameter of the brim wire. Sadly, the hat was received folded by the manufacturer into a small plastic bag without any shaping materials or brim/ crown protection AND the lightweight brim wire not substantial enough to hold a correct circle after such handling. This is very disappointing. Suffice it to say even though I'll try to continue to stabilize shape of the brim, the absence of shaping materials causes a reduction in the number of STARS I elected to give. Any buyer will need to consider if they are willing to engage in this shaping process before deciding to make a purchase. (Please note that the actual design of the hat is quite lovely, and the sheerness of the mesh coil adds greatly to the airiness and appeal - you will need to make your own determination against that and the packaging cons I have presented.)

I never go online to write a review and I have to do it for this gorgeous hat. It is exactly what you see in the picture and even better. Quality is great the fit is superb and the packaging protected the hat well enough. It’s vintage looking classy elegant and it looks expensive !! Great piece you need to get it.

The band is very small so avoid if you have a large hear. That said, it's exactly as pictured and countless compliments on it when I wore it. The color is as pictured. Nice quality.
