This is a useful camera upgrade. The image is not incredibly sharp, but it is good enough for seeing obstacles when backing up. The colors are OK, and the light sensitivity is usable. Tested with an analog input monitor and the compatibility was good. I think it's a little pricy at $50, but that's just my opinion.

So I did had an issue installing the camera initially. You have to seat the back side of camera, then roll forward to snap in place. Fits perfect with a good seal. The switch did prevent the component from being fully installed. I had to remove the micro switch, drill 2 new holes so I could lock wire the switch closer to the unit. Then I was able to grind down the plastic piece that was too high. See attached pics.Then the supplied RCA wire is not shielded A/V wire, introducing tons of EMI interference on the screen. So I ordered a replacement RCA wire harness and RCA connector to solder back onto the end I cut to be able to route it through the car.Overall, the camera and housing fit and work great. I did have to modify the housing to fit without contacting the car and replacing the supplied wire with a more quality A/V cable. Completely worth spending the extra money to have a quality result. I recommend having some experience using this product. You will have to modify it or just use it as is, but it will fail and the video quality will be degraded.

When I tested the camera by hooking up to the viewer, it worked as expected. I have not installed it yet since I am having a rather related but unrelated issue with the trunk handle. I have E90 and I am trying to install this backup camera by replacing the trunk handle, but I am having a little problem trying to remove the existing handle that won’t come out. It supposed to just “pop-out” but it acts like it is stuck on something. The included manual did not mention any instructions on that, so I will be on my own.
