This works great for cloning M.2 NVME SSD's Especially if they come with the heat sink attached to the SSD.

Nice tool to connect a SATA M.2 Card SSD or NVME M.2 SSD via USB/USB-C to your computer to transfer data. One must plug the SSD card all the way in, make sure that it is all the way in, and than connect the USB cable. In some cases when the SSD is plugged in, the computer does not recognize the drive (especially when it looks like the drive is in, but need to be removed and place in the socket again).I would not use it as permanent solution, as the ssd might get broken, also I do not know how long the springs that make the contact with the SSD will be tight enough to connect to the SSD

Absolutely flawless. High quality cable with USB C. The only enclosure I need. I recommend this one. The base is heavy, and tolerances are tight

Works poorly. Tried with several different computers and SSD's. It works for a few minutes then drops connection. Will drop instantly if attempting to move large amounts of data. For testing, used another SSD to USB device that cost less and is 100% reliable. Two stars only because it's heavy enough so it can be used as a paperweight.

The unit (at least the unit I ordered in Feb 2025) utilized the Realtek RTL9210B-CG chipset. I couldn't find that information online anywhere, which is why I wrote this review. When connected to a USB-C 20Gbps port the speed is ~10Gbps. When connected to a 5Gbps USB-C speeds the unit performed at 5Gbps. Tested on Windows 11. The test drive (a Samsung 980 Pro) was detected in macOS Ventura when connected to a 2017 iMac USB-C (Thunderbolt 3) port.I'm not sure if this unit supports USB-to-PCIe mode of the RTL9210B-CG supports PCIe Gen3 x2. For PCIe, the chipset can provides up to 16Gbps bandwidth according to Realtek's website.Excellent unit. Immediately bought more of them. Base is heavy enough. Have only owned unit for 24hrs, however the Realtek chipset inspires confidence for it's intended use. Comes with USB-C to USB-C/A cable.

This product worked perfectly to resolve my issue with upgrading my SSD after buying one with a heat sink. The first adapter I bought would not accommodate the heat sink. The dual USB adapter is a nice feature although I was able to use the USB-C connector for higher transfer speed.

I thought this was the absolute best thing in the world. I tried it with a Samsung 990 PRO NVME drive via my Thunderbolt interface and got close to 7gb/sec, which is close to the speed you see internally from that drive. I then disconnected it via EJECT and got one of my M.2 SATA drives which normally run at about 400 to 450MB/sec, (they are SATA and not NVME), but my test showed over 3600MB/sec read and 3100MB/sec write. I could not believe what I was seeing, so I ran the test again and took a picture of the screen to prove it.I then put another NVME drive in (ADATA 8200) and it would not do anything at all, it was as if it didn't register that I plugged in the new drive, so I tried to eject it (nothing showed up to eject). So I shut the system down and rebooted. I put the original Samsung 990 PRO NVME in and again it didn't show up.I then noticed that the little light was also not lit up any more next to the drive, so I think it up and died on me.After 3 more reboots and retries, I have decided that it was great for the few minutes that it actually worked. Unfortunately, a great device that breaks after 2 (very short) tests is not really cost effective.I really like the idea, and if they get it to work reliably I might change my review, but I honestly can't do that based on the results I have so far.
