Installation Tips
Some simple drilling is required to complete a firm installation. Fortunately, detailed instruction can help you a lot. Also,you need to prepare professional installation tools. It should take about 1 hour or less based on your operation skill.
1. There are four spacers that are almost the same size, but one is slightly longer, it goes in the bottom left hole.
2. The top two spacers will also protrude more than the bottom two when fully inserted.
3. The table must be removed from the back plate in order to get the bottom bolts in the holes.

I like this product. However, other reviews regarding the installation holes being misaligned are accurate. Some adjustments were needed to get it to fit.

The predrilled holes on the product do not line up with the holes on the stock JL tailgate, making it not possible to install this without drilling new holes on the product. I tried to make it work, but it was impossible to get all four screws in. If you luck out and get one that happened to have been made correctly, then I'm sure this would be a fine tail gate, the actual hardware seemed sturdy enough, but the quality control for this product is not worth taking the risk.

I really love the way it looks and its purpose. It fits just fine when closing the back door. My only issue is the hinge/clasp doesn't line up perfectly (left side only), it's slightly off and it is rough/sharp (both hinges/clasps) so you need to be careful when latching it closed. It isn't a big enough deal to send it back though. I made it work and I think it looks great. It makes camping and picnics a lot easier with the extra space.

Second Edit: I replaced the latches that came with this item because they were so bad and basically didn't latch/function very well at all (per below). I bought Rubber Flexible T-Handle Hasp latches (like on a cooler) that you can find here on Amazon ($9.99). They need to be mounted at an angle, but have worked great so far. No rattling at all. You can use a small drill bit to drill out the aluminum rivets that are in the stock latches easily, you'll need to drill new holes in the table, but was pretty easy. If you don't mind a project, this might be worth the $$ you save, but I easily spent an extra 2 hours on this item trying to make it just work as intended.EDIT: Down from 4 stars to 2 stars after driving with this item.After driving with this item there are some additional flaws that made me lower this to 2 stars.- When you close the tailgate door the latches disengage and flip-up, the door doesn't drop, but it's no longer securely attached- Due to it being loose it rattles a TON and is very annoying :(I really hoped to like this item but the quality of the latches (very poor) and the install being do difficult makes me wish I had not purchased it honestly.Original Review Before Driving:When I received this item most of the hardware was missing due to really poor packing and protection of the hardware bag itself. I contacted the manufacturer and they got back to me quickly (yay) and sent me new hardware items, however, it took a couple of weeks to get them, which was kind of a bummer.Another complicating element was that there were a number of hardware items that were not needed for my install and the instructions are SUPER POOR, so this leads to a fair amount of guessing and probing around until you're confident of what you're doing.The template provided is not accurate, so you need to adjust it to match your mounting holes on the Jeep door once you've removed the plastic trim. Getting the screws to line up properly through the trim and into the mounting positions was not super easy b/c your vision is obscured by the trim itself. Should take 30 mins, probably took me 1.5 hours.Once installed it feels secure but I have not used it or driven with it yet, I'll update once I know more. I am concerned that it might rattle since the latches appear somewhat loose.
