Ok I must say I really like this pump for my turtle aquarium,but I can also say I didn't expect it to stop working within 4 months. I have to purchase a new pump and hope for the best. Sorry I gave you a 3 only because it only lasted 4 months.

I actually bought this to filter water in a homemade live well I built. It worked pretty well, but in hindsight I would use a filter suited for filtering a much larger volume of water. That being said, this filter held up really well.

Easy to set up. Works well in shallow water. Difficult to find bulk filters for periodic maintenance.

This left my turtles tank cloudy after one day. I asked a question, what filter refi goes with this, there should be a disposable filter inside that gets changed weekly. Clay balls are not enough to clean the water. Even if you clean them the inside comes out but it doesn't open up and there's nothing filtering the water. After 2 days I can't see through the water at all and the water smells. Don't waste your money on this. It doesn't work.

I expected to have to refresh the water so the filter would start on a clean base. Within a day the water turned cloudy, and I figured maybe it needs sometime to work so we changed the water a second time and more intense cleaning. Now 3 days later our water is filthy and filter works more as a waterfall than an actual filter. I’m disappointed because the reviews were misleading. I’m embarrassed to post but to show what the water looks like as of today I will post a picture.Note our tank is about 30-35 gallons and water level is a quarter full.
