Absolute junk, correctly installed and the ball joint snapped off the rod the first time the tailgate was lowered. Should have bought the same kind I used on my F350, it was more expensive but was worth the price difference. You get what you pay for.

Easy to install, no cutting or difficult to find tools required(think there were 2 metric- 4mm & 5mm hex wrenches required). Slow smooth open, great upgrade. Only 2 weeks old but looks to be good quality.

I love it. Only thing is the anchor for the bolt never secured to the truck. I just put a self tapping screw through it and it is secure now. i can just pull the tailgate latch and let it drop and the shock takes it down so nice and easy. No more slamming tailgate!!

Fits great on my 2008 Chevrolet silverado 1500. Install was easy. One is enough for easing the tailgate down. I purchased two so may gift one to a friend. Although it works well it is pretty simple materials and light duty so for what it is I feel that it is overpriced.
