My hood latch release lever had gotten too loose to release the hood. This only took a few minutes to change out, and it works great. I expect it will last as well as the original. I believe that the original latch was damaged after a minor frontal collision.But I did not notice for several months, so I just replaced it myself to avoid having to deal with the body shop.
