This is a very nice stump vise, when the screw had a plastic star knob attached to it for user comfort. THEY, having cheapened an already overpriced stump vise, have gone from GREAT to a measly SO-SO stump vise. Come on Stihl, you make the best chainsaws in the WORLD. Start acting like you ARE the Best and STOP being so damn CHEAP ! How much extra could a small piece of plastic cost? It must cost more than their loyal customers ,or, Stihl just couldn't care LESS.

Very well built, glad I went with Stihl and heavy duty. My only request would be to have the locking screw captive so it can't rattle out of the clamp when not in use. Other than that I love it

Well. Likes. Heavy steel. Hasn’t cracked as of yet. For some reason I thought that Stihl was made in the USA. This has Made in China on the item and packaging. I bought it as I try and support the USA. The price was more than other stump vises. I may have rethought paying the price difference if I would have realized the manufacturer location. Thanks for the opportunity to comment. I appreciate it. :~)
