Note that this model is plastic, not metal. It has metal inserts to get the hardness required on the tool surfaces. That's not necessarily a bad thing when working with electricity in confined spaces, and the metal ones are cheap pot-metal these days anyhow, so probably not much strength difference.Note also that this design is pretty much garbage. Build quality on this one is good, but I have never had a post cleaner of this design that was able to scrape off more than the very thinnest layers of corrosion.Unfortunately, nobody has had any of the actually good post cleaners for sale in at least a decade, so this will have to do.

This is plastic. I am sure it will not last very long. Both the positive and negative terminal scrapers are pretty tight. They take off more material than I would like. Yes, it works. The brush under the black cap is very stubby, you cant really do the inside of the cable ends. It would work for the flat GM bolt on style. The reamer blades are not consistent, I figure this will be the first failure when they start falling out.

I've had one of these for years and it finally gave up from use. I used it professionally and it works perfect for the old battery cables and batteries. Worth the investment.

This does what it's supposed to. If you are new using these, be careful because it is easy to take metal off the terminal if you use it aggressively.

Inexpensive tool to ream (smooth) out the the contact surfaces on a brass battery post clamp. The cutting edges are not particularly sharp since this tool was wade for lead battery post clamps. I purchase this tool with the expectations that I will need to spend time and energy to obtain the finish on the brass battery post clamps that I wanted. A good tool for the price. A "real" battery post clamp reamer would be way too expensive for me.
