Works as expected. Counts up to 9999. If you have to count something and can't use memory or paper, this is your tool.Fits snugly in palm of hand, and has a comfortable finger loop that stabilizes the unit so you can actually use your finger tips to do some other task.Uniquely designed finger loop flips over to be used left or right handed. You know by looking at this device if it is what you need. It works as you'd expect.

It did take 6 weeks to get here. But, the price was great and it was exactly what I wanted. But, I didn't need it in a hurry and just couldn't bring myself to spend as much as 5xs more for what looked (in the pictures) like the same exact product. Plus, I didn't want to need batteries or want to throw it out when the included battery wore down.I'm using it to count rows and stitches in my crochet projects. It counts up for every click on the silver button. (photo is upsidedown btw) I wanted something that I could basically smack or tap without having to drop my work and pick up the counter. So far, it seems to work well and advances with each push. Feels nice and solid in my hand despite the low price.Mechanicals seem simple based on the return to zero mechanism - meaning it's nothing super fancy and will hopefully last long. The black knob gets turned to reset. It advances all of the 4 dials at once. So, if you counted to 3 and then wanted to return to 0000, the first twist would read 1113, the second 2223, the third 3333, the forth 4444 etc. until you got back to 0000. I'm thinking someone clever could maybe make that work for them as a second counter as well.In the end, does what it says. Seems fairly sturdy. Great price. Just takes a while to arrive.

Working great. I take it to the pool while i swim laps. Not as convenient having to have it on the side of the pool but I'm not swimming competition, just for fun so the 2 second stop doesn't matter. I can't believe how long it took to get to me (as the site stated it would) they must wait to make them until the get a certain number of orders but it was on time. I'd buy another if I had to.

I use this for inventory purposes at my job. It's alot more convenient then having a spare sheet of paper to jot down everything and makes counting hundreds of items much more faster.

I repaired it so it works fine now. However, when I received it, it would not count past 9, the digit for the next wheel of numbers would not index. I opened the case and realigned everything then put it back together. It works fine now.The case is beat up. Looks like someone has used it or it's been rolling around unprotected in a bin.For 5 bucks it's a good purchase. I knocked off 2 stars because I had to fix it,

I use this for counting negative behaviors and speech at local School Board meetings. I am pretty overt as I watch one particularly aggressive politician spin and fog. I believe his behavior is moderated as he wonders what I am doing with the counter. I use the counter, along with a University of Louisiana, Lafayette composition book, where I write ahead of time the behaviors I plan to count. He casts long looks which distract him from his haranguing. It's fun. Get one if you find yourself in the midst of lies, inappropriate grandstanding. A behaviorist once lectured: Write down the behaviors you are trying to eliminate and conceal the counter in a pocket. That helps one ignore the negative behavior.(B. F. Skinner: "Behavior which is ignored will extinguish). I use this counter in reverse by being overt with clicking and writing. It upsets the equilibrium of the "showboat."

I originally purchased the Robic M-357 Tally Counter. After purchasing it found d it was shipped on a slow boat from China. Took 4 weeks to get to me. I needed it faster so I purchased the S.P. Richards counter, which I received in 3 days. After using the two counter side by side, the Richards is better. The push button on the Richards registers at about a 3/4 length of the push on the plunger. The Robic needs to be pushed all the way down, making it easy to miss a count. Richards brand seem to be sturdier, and has a larger wire that forms the finger piece in the top, the Robic is thinner and probably weaker.

I bought this neat little counter to help me keep track of how many laps I've done up and down my long driveway each day when I'm getting in my walking exercise. Reading a few of the reviews for it I was a little skeptical of what I was buying, but I found the low reviews to be just wrong about this little gadget. It's a simple mechanical counter that easily fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. It has a ring that you place your middle finger (yes, the bird finger) through that allows you to hold it in your palm making it easy to click the lever with your thumb when you want to add to the tally. To reset the count, it has a simple dial on the side that quickly and easily allows you to set it back to zero. No batteries, nothing electronic, just a mechanical device that helps you keep count of whatever you are counting. As to it's durability, it came out of the box ready to use. I've to date dropped it on concrete a few times, and on one occasion actually booted it twice into a concrete wall trying to grab it up without stopping my walk. It still works like new, and I'm now a big believer in using the ring feature on it to keep it in my hand.In summary, it's simple, easy to use, durable, and comfortable in the hand. It does exactly what I want it to do, no more and no less, so I give it 5 stars. I recommend it if all you want is a simple counter.
