SPANK SPOON 2 STEM: Modern bike geometries require modern stems. The Spank Spoon 2 Stem is 2D-forged and CNC optimized for strength and reasonably lightweight. It is suitable for freeride, all-mountain, or enduro riding. It features an hourglass profile that gives added torsional stiffness, and the wide chamfered bar clamps provide support to the handlebars. It comes with a Snap-Fit top cap that is sealed with an O-ring to keep the dirt and water out of your steerer. TECHNOLOGIES: MGR - Micro Grain Refinement- Processes such as extrusion, forging and tube drawing can increase the strength of alloy materials by reducing the grain size Spank uses state of the art proprietary metal forming methods which further improve grain size consistency and orientation, and significantly reduce the grain size beyond that of our competitors. No other bars are subjected to the number of drawing steps or level of refinement as those offered by Spank. This leads to greater ultimate strength, toughtness, and ductility...meaning confidence, comfort and safety.
CNC BENDING - Spank uses automated 3D CNC bending machines, which offer better symmetry and consistency and limit material structural damage; it eliminates heavy grinding processes, making bars lighter, stronger, and safer.

How did my spoon stem not too long ago and waited and counted down the hours until it got here upon receiving it open the box I got one sticker the stem and that's it no top cap which would come with every stem no matter what brand or quality they all come with them mine did not and now I'm trying to think of why it didn't come with them and the only thing I can think of is the discounted price. Because now if you purchase the same color same stem it's $40 more so if I want to return my item I would have to pay double to get a new one. Is this on purpose or coincidence??I think not now I had to throw some told cap on that does t fit right....also wouldn't expect this from SPANK but it's right in the name.. they deserve couple

It's a lot darker red, almost maroon. I'll take a pic outside once installed... As mentioned in other reviews, it does not come with the top cap. Says so right on the box. One star off for that and the color being so far off. Otherwise, It's a solid, robust stem at a good price. Also worth mentioning, it arrived a week earlier than estimated from UK seller.

My old stem went very far forward and since I had a riser on it it looked very awkward. Now it looks great and is super comfortable to ride my bike. High quality and great looking green color.

Love this stem!! Lightweight but heavy duty. Tested on some really rocky trails and this product as in combination with the spank spoon handlebars has been a game changer.

Very trusty stem. I ordered the 40mm black and the spank spoon 785mm 25 rise handlebars and that is just a perfect combonation for me.
