We've had this overhead console on for about 3 weeks now and I have nothing but great things to say about it. It's held up through dust, mud, and rain better than a lot of interior products I've purchased do. The 6 provide pouches work fairly well with one having a plastic insert for what I assume would be documents. However the only recommendation I would give is check to make sure the loop that you must remove above the windshield is held in by T25 torx head screws. It was this way in my 2010 Wrangler so I assume it would be the same on all models afterwards, but some are held in by rivets that you must drill out and place a screw plate behind so your jeep can't truely return to factory specs if you want to keep the console after an upgrade. This is no fault of Smittybilt because they found a way for it to work with every model year JK Wrangler. All parts are included whether your jeep has rivets or torx screws

I will upload some pix later. This was an easy install, to give you an idea of how easy I used a crescent wrench and a socket set and install this while sitting in a community park. I even took the time to run some power cables for my go pro along it and down through the side molding so it was hidden. Its solid!!! This thing doesn't move wiggle or budge.I have a 2012 Wrangler Unlimited JK / Soft top with half doors. So you know what I"m working with. Some lessons I learned while doing this.1: Reinstall the upper molding before you tighten any bolts up. The directions I had, had you doing that last and it doesn't work. You should not need to cut ANYTHING to make it fit.2: The Clamps. If you have a sound bar putting the clamps on can be a pain. First off put the padded sleeves on them BEFORE you fight to get them through the sound bar and around the roll bar. (Ya I got to do that twice dumb me lol) Next figure out how much you need and cut the excess sleeve and clamp off then ratchet them down.3: Before you start bolting anything do a dry run with the molly gear and figure out what you want where, then attach it off the jeep. Its just easier that way. Do the rest of the install then put the Molly gear on.This is the second Molly Gear system I bought from Smittybilt, the first was for the tail gate in 2012. Great system and great gear. I have yet to be disappointed with any of their products, oh and the Tailgate one is still in great condition and holds a tool bag and a full (very large) med kit.

I have a 2008 JK and this works just fine with my hard top. It just makes getting to the panel releases a little harder which is no big deal since I rarely take them off. The only reason I took off one star was because the rearview is partially obscured. Other than that it was easy to install and provides much needed storage space since I use my jeep for work.

Love this product. Works with hard top on my 2012 2 door sahara. Just had to unscrew one clamp from driver side freedom top panel, no big deal at all. Make sure you own Torx set for install , but if you own a jeep and do any work on it, then you probably already have a decent set.Installation was very uncomfortable and had some difficult parts to it, but still only took less than 2 hours and didn't need any fancy tools besides the torx.Very high quality and nice looking product.

Installed on my 2010 Wrangler. Easy to install and works great with a soft top. For those who say it doesn't work with a hard top, including smittybilt, they're wrong. If you can use a drill you can make it work. Start by removing the bolt that holds the plastic bracket on the driver side freedom top that attaches to the front footman loop. Discard the bracket and save the bolt. go to a hardware store and find a washer that will slide around the bolt and is larger than the head. Next, drill a hole through the metal bracket of the console so that when the freedom top sets down you then run the bolt through the console into the freedom top. Be sure to have the fabric partially wrapped around the front so you can secure it after you get the bolt in. Voowalla.....it's magic.

Does not work well with the hardtop freedom top. Pouches had bad snaps and would not stay closed.

This is an amazing product it is worth every penny. Very good quality built solid ( I could stand on it if needed).BadYou will lose a little bit of sunlight when the top is off.You have to move things around a bit so it does not block your view from your rear mirror.

Once the "Console" is installed, the driver's side hard top panel will not fit because the console is in the way of the panel latch closest to the windshield. It's not even close. I loosened everything up and tried to get the console lower, but it's still a full half inch in the way. I'll simply avoid buying "Smitty Built" products in the future.
