i got this as a gift to my dad for christmas, and he was very happy with it, as was i. the shredder itself works exactly as described, making mincemeat out of all materials you would ever need to shred. i wish i could tell you im saying ‘mincemeat’ ironically, but its true. datebayo. this is well worth the money in that regard. there was some damage on the inside of the drawer. hardly noticeable, doesnt really matter too much in terms of how it functions, but still unfortunate given how much it costs. oh whale would buy again 👍🏻

just received my Royal Microcut Shredder. I love it!! I replaced an older Royal that I had for 15 years and was skeptical on purchasing a new one, but this one sure did deliver!!! and quiet !!!!!!! i didnt realize how loud my old one was until this one came into my life. As far as my shredding goes, its just all my bills and stuff so it is definitely doing the job. it works great for our home office. you do feed on a slant, but my old one did too so no big deal. and i love the little window to see when she's full !!!! great for the money !!

This is actually THE best shredder I’ve owned/used (and I’ve used both consumer and commercial shredders) . The motor is extremely quiet, yet powerful. This is the first shredder I’ve owned that did not require the TV volume be raised while shredding. I want to stress this point as it really impressed me when compared to other new and expensive shredders I’ve owned costing more than double the price of this one (Fellows LX22m). Also, whether you put 1, 8 or 18 sheets, the motor makes no audible change in pitch. In other words, the powerful 9 Amp motor shows no audible sign of strain while shredding compared to the LX22m 5.8 Amp motor.Two discrepancies that are incorrect on the Amazon listing… The listing states the bin is only 3 gallons when it is actually 7.4 gallons as is show even on the box in the listing picture.Secondly, the runtime on the listing says 30 mins but both the exterior of the box I received as well as the sticker affixed to the top of the shredder say 40 mins.I even contacted Royal directly to verify this discrepancy and they confirmed this model has a continuous runtime of 40 MINS, Awesome!1 minor change I would make would be to the casters/wheels. They are designed to be hidden/recessed from view under the bin which means it doesn’t have much ground clearance. If you have the shredder on carpet as I do, the wheels don’t stick out below the bin enough to easily move the shredder around. I end up just picking it up to move it around (It’s a bit heavy).Also, the cool down period is a bit long at 40 mins. But considering the runtime is also 40 mins, you are likely to complete your shredding session within 40 mins unless you have thousands of papers to do at a time.Other than those two very minor points, I am extremely impressed and pleased with this shredder and would highly recommend it.

Through the years I have had many paper shredders, ranging from fair to very good. This is by far the best one I have owned. Up to 18 sheets may be shredded, but I usually never shred more than 7 to 10 at a time. It is not too tall, so easily fits under my desk. This is the quietest shredder I have owned. It is possible to carry on a phone conversation while shredding, while with my previous one, it was impossible to clearly hear the other person. Earlier this year I picked one up at Costco at a slightly lower price for my office. I liked it so much I just bought this one at Amazon for home office use. Highly recommended.
