I was given this abacus this morning (Christmas day). I had asked for a second abacus, because I use abacuses as row counters for knitting. This one feels different from the abacus you will get from APH, the beads are slightly smaller, and there are two extra columns on this one. It works just as well as the other! Because of the different textures, I can tell the two apart, which means as long as I remember which pattern I am counting on each one, I am fine. I would definitely recommend this for any child or adult. Will work well for what its intended purpose is, math, I just use it for something else.

it seems a little odd to be 1 less row than the standard abacus, but in any case, i like the fact that you can put it into your pocket; and won't easily lose the setting.

Like to take shopping to keep track of my cost for items. The beads stay where they are put so you don't lose count.
