I've been in the nitro engine plane/car hobby for over 40 years and this is yet another example of cheap junk made in china. When I compare the 'jaws' that grab the glow plug to the 20 year old Tower Hobby one that plugs into my R/C flight box, it's like night and day. The unit itself weighs roughly half of the Tower Hobby unit (which was probably made in the US, Mexico or even Japan, regardless better quality of materials used) and there was NO crimp on the end of the jaws to grab onto the glow plug. I have since cut the electronic gizmo that regulates the voltage from the 12v battery and put some banana clip receptacles on it so the Tower Hobby one will simply plug in without cutting more wires. Now that I've gotten back into CL flying, I don't need a "Flight Box" setup as with the R/C planes. I recommend if you already have one from years ago and wish to use a single 12v battery for the starter and the glow, just by a simple 12v to 1.5v inline voltage regulator and plug your old ignitor into it...
