File this nifty monitor light under the “things I didn’t know I needed until I actually had one” category. I tend to do a lot of my daily work preparation in the early morning hours when the house is dark and quiet and, when I disengage my fingers from the keyboard, I sometimes lose track of where certain keys are. Now, with this lamp installed, the keyboard is as bright as day without waking up my wife and without any annoying glare into the monitor itself. It’s the solution to a nagging problem that I never thought to solve before! The unique design of the lamp’s “clamp” makes it easy to fit onto the top of just about any laptop monitor. It’s pretty much a universal fit. There’s even the option of using the sticky bit at the base of the clamp to hold it more firmly into place. The lamp runs the length (15.7 inches) of my laptop’s monitor and shines an even light directly on to the keyboard without interfering with the monitor itself. It powers up via USB (cord is included in the set) which you can plug directly into your laptop and its brightness is controlled by the puck-shaped remote control (battery operated – three AAA batteries included).According to the manual, this lamp will fit just about any monitor included those fancy curved models. I have only flat screens laptops so I can’t attest to the lamp actually fitting on a curved model but, from what I have seen and experienced, I can see no reason why it wouldn’t be fully compatible with any type of screen. The lighting is pure and even. Using the remote the lighting can be easily adjusted from low to bright with total consistency at any level. There is no flickering at any level. The lamp utilizes 84 LED beads to provide even lighting that is easy on the eyes. I definitely appreciate that the light is not harsh at all, even when it is the only light source in an otherwise darkened room.Even in a completely darkened room this lamp makes it easy to surf the ‘net, read, sketch, use art or editing apps, or basically do just about anything. The remote control allows for easy dimming or brightening with subtle steps in between so you can find the level that is perfect for your needs. The remote isn’t entirely intuitive and it is the only source of negativity about this set as far as I am concerned. Keep the instruction manual nearby! Also, even when the remote is turned off, it is not completely off as a bit of the battery power is still being used to keep a tiny light burning. That will run down the AAA batteries sooner than necessary. I would hope that the manufacturer will update the model to fix these couple of problems. When push comes to shove, however, I give this lamp 5-stars for its compatibility to any laptop/monitor and its lighting effectiveness. I’m only deducting that one final star from my rating because of the glitches with the remote. The problems with the remote, however, should not deter you from trying this light. You may never know that you need it until you’ve used it.

This is a very unique light fixture in terms of physical mounting and operation. The attachment to the monitor is thoroughly unique, at first a little confusing, but just follow the instructions and you will find it is the perfect way to mount this fixture. And I suspect you have NEVER seen such a mount and should be impressed with how effective it is.The main lamp actually casts a 45 degree aperture of light at a downward angle. By adjusting the pitch of the main light you can avoid any light washing the monitor surface or reaching the user's eyes. It casts that narrow aperture onto the desktop in front of the monitor while not reaching the user's eyes sitting at the workstation.I use a gas-charged floating monitor mount and tend to let that float higher than normal on the desk to have more useable desktop real estate. But when I lowered the monitor while testing the light, I realized at lower elevations that narrow aperture was less apt to migrate into my field of vision. As for operation, there is a puck-like controller to turn on the main light and an ambient light that points toward the wall behind the monitor. This single fixture provides both ambient and direct working-area illumination. The controller takes getting used to. I thought I knew what I was doing but after reading the user guide discovered things I had missed, like independently adjusting the color temperature and brightness of each light. There was a real "Aha!" moment when I realized that I had missed two buttons atop the puck! There is a red pilot LED that strangely is ALWAYS ILLUMINATED even when the two lights are not turned on. Hopefully that is a low-draw LED because I grew up in an era in which dad constantly reminded us to turn off lights. So even at 72, fifty years later, I feel funny about that light burning all the time. I was a little taken aback about the puck being battery powered as I am accustomed to powered lights being controlled by powered controllers. If the batteries are dead there is no way to operate the lights. I even connected the USB power cord to a switched device thinking that switch could operate the light if I turned that remote switch off without powering down the fixture. No dice, once power is cut the fixture must be triggered on from that battery-powered puck.I understand, I think. The fixture is really a work of art with beautiful physical design, esoteric looks and specific guided performance. So that puck is part of that beauty, and I really, really appreciate that. I have tried nearly a dozen lights at my workstation and this is by far the nicest looking and performing of the bunch. As I write this I have three other LED lights and two illuminated magnifying lights, all on articulated arm mounts for easy positioning and holding. With a mic boom as well, there are a total of six articulated arm devices poking up in the air to be swung down for various tasks, like opening up an electronic device to rummage around inside it. But every other light (except the magnifiers) interferes with my 34" AlienWare OLED monitor, EXCEPT for this beautifully weird Quntis lamp! You can certainly find less expensive desk lights, but not with the care and attention to the design, implementation and performance of this one! And for $50 you have a awesome functional work of art to boot! I really like this thing!

This monitor light is perfect. If you have seen the pink version of this light they are exactly the same except clearly the color. Perfect for a white aesthetic.

When I ordered this, I wasn’t sure I needed it, because I have a desk lamp and an overhead light, but wow, does it make a difference! The lamp is very thin and sleek and clamps easily on to the top of your monitor. Setup was practically effortless. The hardest part was getting the bottom off the remote control so I could install the batteries. The remote is actually a disk shaped thing with virtual buttons on the top, made to sit on your desk. In addition to turning the light on and off, it lets you set brightness and color of the light (bluish to yellowish) for both the main light and the backlight. (Yes, this slim little lamp has two separate lamps in it.) The lamp is powered by a usb-c to usb-a cord. The instructions say that you should plug the lamp directly into your computer, but my computer doesn’t have usb-a ports and I don’t have a usb-a to usb-c adapter, so it got plugged into a hub and worked fine. The build quality of the lamp seems great, and despite not thinking that I needed it, I really appreciate the light.
