Good mallets. The shafts are straight, not tapered, and made of American hickory and stained. The heads are wrapped with felt so stand up to play and wear better. The hardness of the heads give good definition without sounding too staccato.

I love the Promark mallets for their shaped handles, much better than straight ones.

Excellent for SOFT parts; these are not hard mallets.

Our son needed these mallets as a recommendation from his percussion instructor, who has used almost everything on the market. he has been very happy with these.

These mallets provide a nice general purpose mallet. They are hard enough to play most staccato passages but can still play quiet passages. They seem to be well built and they feel pretty well balanced.
