Brand new, rookie potter here. I'm experimenting with wild clay from the creek bank and a 900W microwave.First, the four star rating is because the Kiln developed fine cracks on the inside. They don't extend all the way through so I'm continuing to use it with no problems so far. I was very unsure of the firing time for my clay so I opened the kiln after every 3 minutes to see how the item looked. The microwave is out on the porch so this let very cold air into the kiln. I think this was the cause of the cracks.I've been running the kiln three times a day, every day for a week now. Bisque firing on high for 15 minutes then glazing on high for 35 minutes. Couldn't be happier! Everything has come out just right. This little kiln has opened up a whole new world of enjoyment. A wonderful, inexpensive introduction to making small ceramics. I'll be buying a couple more in the future.
