I have a couple battery powered multi tools. They are good for cutting through sheet rock, but not much else. This one has so much more power. I've cut through nails and wood so far and had no problems. I like the ease of using a battery powered tool but in this instance the corded tool is superior.

I think the quality of the construction is very good. The variable speed has a excellent range. And the vibration and noise is much better than my previous Harbor freight unit. Best of all the clamp down blade holder is the best style. The blade will not slip out like the screw on style does.

This thing is solid and well built! I don’t use an oscillating tool very often but when I do I need it to not Peter out on me all the time. Others that I have used are kind of flimsy and cheap. This thing has the heft and strength that I need for a large project. The cord is long so I don’t have to use extension cords and it doesn’t ever fail. I prefer it over a battery device. Excellent all the way around! I can tell this thing will last the rest of my life.

The tool works ok, but overheats and melts the plastic sanding attachment that comes with it in under 5 minutes. Likely best suited for cutting.

This is the first time I have ever used a oscillating saw and I wasn't sure it it would work as easily as I hoped. I was very controlled and simple to use.I used one of the skinny blades (the ones about the width of a paint stirrer stick) and plunged it into the end of 2x stock. Then I made a couple more cuts and removed a chunk. The overcut on the plunge cut into the top face of the board represents my third cut where I was trying to match kerfs. I think I could have done better.I used these blades: Vtopmart 15 Wood Metal Oscillating Multitool Quick Release Saw Blades.The quick change feature is awesome. You just squeeze the silver handle to compress a stiff spring that presses an indexed mandrel into the notches of the blade.

This isnt my first multi-tool. I had a harbor-freight cheapie that still lasted me a good decade, so I picked this one up when it finally gave up the ghost. I have been using it frequently for remodeling a bathroom including cutting out drywall, wood flooring, small technical sections from 2-bys, trim, etc.It is possibly the most versatile tool I have. The bits change easily. Just keep in mind that not all bits are interchangable - my old bits dont fit on this one. But you gain easy bit changes, so its worth buying new ones. They're not that expensive anyway.Anyway, the performance is good, and Im very happy with this multi-tool.

I used this to cut out a portion of cabinets to make space for a dishwasher. The cut needed to be flush and this seemed like the perfect tool for the job. I was very impressed with how well this worked. The tool has lots of power and feels well built. Very pleased.

I had put off purchasing an oscillating multitool for years until I used a friend's tool while working on a church project. I was impressed and bought this one. It works well and I have found several unexpected uses for it. It certainly should not be the first tool you buy, but if you want a useful addition to your tool supply, this one seems capable and durable. You will want to buy an assortment of blades for it.

I had a battery powered Mastercraft that was useful but poor battery life and under powered. For the cost of a couple of replacement batteries I bought the Porter-Cable. No comparison in power. I sawed through large custom baseboard like butter. The quick change feature is nice though the release lever is a little stiff. I gladly gave up the portability of the battery unit for the power of this unit. Hefty, solid construction.

Trabajando en unos proyectos, decidi pedir esta herramienta oscilante. El servicio de Amazon impecable, en cuanto tuve la herramienta decidi probarla, la carcase se ve solida y el motor r, tiene 6 velocidades, y se escucha potente. Trae un par de elementos de corte para madera y metal , los probe, con resultados variables en la madera el corte es irregular y tosco, si no se requiere un corte regular, puede servir. En metal, ni hablar, en unos segundos perdio los dientes de corte tratando de cortar la parte delgada de un tornillo pequeño, asi que ahi ninguna utilidad. Utilice el aditamento para lijar, con resultados mixtos, llega a las esquinas, pero la lija despues de un tiempo se despega del apoyo, lo que es muy frustrante porque son caras y dificiles de conseguir. Y finalmente lo que decidio la devolucion de la maquina es que se calienta el motor de manera alarmante despues de 10-15 minutos de uso (si lo tocas dejas un pedazo de piel). Lastima de marca pero la verdad habra que buscar en otro lado.

Bought at Amazon at a good price.One of the feature that attracts me, other then the price, the tool comes with 8 feet long cable. However to my disappointment, it was only 7 feet long. A call to customer service seems useless!. For these reasons I gave 4 stars. The tool itself perform as intended and like the quick change of the blades, no tools.

Great tool. Solid well made. The best version of this type I have handled. Useful accessories and a long power cable. Balanced in your hand and easy to use. Universal blade holder allows use of various brand of blades.Used it to cut metal trim with one of the included blades. Went thru like butter. You will wonder why you went without it. No chatter or kickback. Easy to master. Brilliant tool change system, no messing with bolts or lost hex keys.I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

This tool performs exactly as expected. It is powerful enough to cut quickly and it is precise. The tool-less blade-change feature is very handy, although it requires quite a bit of force on the lever to free the blade; much easier than having to use a screwdriver or allen wrench, however. The tool body does get somewhat hot after continuous use, and you should be careful not to cover the ventilation area with your hand when holding it. Finding blades on-line to fit was not easy, since the tool is so new and uses blades with rectangular slots instead of circular holes. However, Performax brand blades with the rectangular slots do fit, and they are pretty reasonably priced.
