The Wired Fight Pad for Wii U is a new line of Classic/Classic Pro Controllers from Performance Designed Products. With minor adjustments, we have built controllers that evoke memories and feelings tied to the now classic GameCube controller. Just plug a Wired Fight Pad into an active Wii remote, and you're set! We have worked with Nintendo every step along the way to make sure that the Wired Fight Pads truly earns the Nintendo Gold Seal. Each style within the Wired Fight Pad for Wii U line is based on an iconic Nintendo character. *DLC (Downloadable Content) may not be included and is not guaranteed to work*

Box came smashed but product was fine. The dpad feels terrible and the shoulders aren't the best but it's better than the alternative of a classic or classic pro.

I bought this on sale to use with the Wii U Smash Bros, and it is a pretty great controller for the cheap price. The thing that I really like about these aftermarket controllers is that they do NOT have analog triggers. For those who don't know, analog triggers are triggers that can sense how far they are pushed down, most commonly used in racing games as a "gas pedal". Nintendo sort of took a backwards step and decided to have NON-analog triggers on the Wii U. Well what does that mean for the avid Smash Bros player? Simple, when using one of these, the triggers are a simple click for deploying shields and do not have the travel distance of the triggers on genuine Gamecube controllers. This may not be for everyone, but I believe that after getting used to the extremely slight layout change, that there is benefit to be had by using one of these. Also, its great that they plug into Wii Remotes so that you don't have to deal with the Gamecube controller hub and a bunch of short wires.

Purchased this to use with a modded Wii for retro gaming. Absolutely fantastic, was $9.99 on sale and out performed the cirka Gamecube controllers I had purchased locally for $14.99. D-Pad isn't as good as a legit Nintendo controller but MILES above the Cirka, it's good, just not quite first party good. Only complaint (has zero to do with functionality) is that while the controller looks cool and is shiny, it gets filthy with finger smudges. So if you suffer from OCD get one of the other variations like the Link or Peach version. Buttons are crisp with fantastic recoil. Shoulder buttons are great and the joysticks work wonderfully. Haven't used to play actual GC games on the Wii but with NES, SNES, Genesis, GBA games the controller is as close to OEM as you can get without spending $30 for the actual thing.

This controller is a very nice controller especially for the price I paid. This controller is intended to be a replacement for the Nintendo Wii's or Wii U's Classic Controller or Classic Controller pro. It basically gives you a gamecube-style button layout that plugs into the Wii remote. This is NOT a replacement for a Gamecube Controller. It doesn't have the same connector that is used on regular Gamecube controllers so if you intend to use this with a Gamecube or plug it into a Gamecube Adapter for the Wii U or the Gamecube ports on some models of the Nintendo Wii it will not work for that purpose. The original Nintendo classic controller is getting very hard to find so this is a good, cheap alternative to that controller. This controller is good for playing Smash brothers on the Wii or Wii U systems as it plugs right into the Wii Remote and gives you the Gamecube controller layout that seems to be the favorite for Smash bros. The color on this one is shiny silver, which I really like. The back of it is black. It is a light controller and doesn't take batteries, rather it draws power from the Wii remote instead. It does attach to The Wii Remote via a cord so that is something else to keep in mind.

For this particular remote you either have to have a Wii u remote or you have to buy an adapter to connect to. I thought it was a bit too much of a hassle so I ended up trading it at a game store and bought a pro control instead.

Buyer beware!!!!! Why would you sell a controller that you need another controller to operate? Terible. Nowhere in the description does it state that you need another controller to make the fight pad work. If I could give negative Stars I would!!

I bougth this controller specially for the design. Once I got it I started playing Smash and Mario Kart 8 and actually liked it. BUT there's a big issue regarding the "metallic" finish, since mine started peeling near the A button just a week after I opened it. Because of that, it's hard to recommend it if you intend to use it as your main controller, due to the fact that it may not look that nice after a couple of weeks, but if you just want it for your controller collection then go for it.
