I have this in black finish. 14" has somewhat of a softer overall sound than the bigger sizes. You can hit it repeatedly and it doesn't get too loud or too washy. Nice for accents or a few quick strikes in close proximity to each other. Paiste says the color muffles the sound a little and I would agree with that. Finish is holding up pretty well. I have hit it hard and no signs of finish coming off . I don't think it would be good to ride on it like a bigger size . I don't think the small size would project enough to use like a ride cymbal for a full section of a song.

Really fast decay, doesn't stand out like my Sabian 14". 3/5 though still has a nice "soft/smooth" sound to it. And looks great!
