This dessert decorating set is really well made and easy to use. It comes with 6 piping tips and 9 silicone baking cups. The syringe is easy fill and clean - plus, unlike when I use the plastic bags, none of the frosting comes out and gets all over my hands which is a frequent issue for me. I didn't find the decorating to be much different than when I use the plastic bags but the decoration part was never my issue. It is a little awkward to use until you become accustomed to it and I do think it would have been easier if I had larger hands.

This helps you make better looking desserts because of the control you get with the large syringe.Bags don't give you the fine control you get with this.

I never knew these existed. It is basically a caulk gun for baking and pastry. I have used it to pipe out cookie dough, pipe icing, and fill manicotti (without ripping the noodles). The silicone cupcakes are nice as is the rest of the kit.

I love to bake--cupcakes are one of my favorites--well, the baking part, not the frosting part. I usually end up with frosting everywhere and they end up looking not so nice or tempting. I do have piping bags with tips but was hoping this would make that step a bit easier. While it kind of contained the mess, my cakes didn't turn out much better, to be honest. It's a bit big in the hands and is kind of difficult to fill. In both of these instances is where the awkward comes in. I don't know if it's because I'm on the shorter side so everything can be a bit of a reach for me and affects angles or if I'm the part of the equation that's awkward (read: untalented). The tips would come off fairly easily--maybe I applied too much pressure or I didn't put them on correctly or securely enough. This would in turn cause messy frosting--which is why I wanted to try this out in the first place. Maybe I just need a bit more practice?Overall, the construction seems pretty sturdy and even with the mess I made, cleaning it up wasn't too difficult. I do like that it's stainless steel and that should also keep it looking and functioning well through multiple uses and cleanings. In addition to the unit and tips, they included not only piping bags but also 9 silicone baking cups, which I think was quite nice. For the whole package, I think the price point is quite fair.

Ordered this dessert decorator for my wife. She tells me that she likes the way it functions and that the lever is metal and not plastic like her old one (that came from a PC home party). This one also holds more icing then the PC one. It comes with 6 tips which is sufficient for making different designs on cakes and cookies. She's not crazy about the fact that the couplers are plastic instead of stainless. It's also weird that the package comes with only 9 silicone cups as muffin tins typically hold 12 cups. The metal insert where the icing goes was a little sharp, so use care. Overall it's not a bad item, although she thought the asking price was a little higher then it should have been. Also, the as copy mentions that this item comes with bags (I guess for icing), but there were none provided.

Alright so... I have thoughts.I bake semi often for fun. I occasionally dabble in decorating and I'm trying to get better.I thought this might have HELPED in that area.Absolutely not a help. The tip came off 3 times. Filling it was a massive pain.It could JUST be that I got a bad one but, if they are all like this?Save your money.

I like most things about this. The inner box had a hole poked in it but that didn't impact the condition. It is nice and solid, everything fits together perfectly and it would be less stressful on the hands than the traditional decorating bags. There are a lot of designs you could use the to accomplish and the tips are a generous size with two different couplers. I have smaller hands for an adult and this things is very cumbersome to hold, it is just awkward. I wanted to really like it but after several adjustments to how I held it, it appears to just be made for someone with larger hands. The tradeoff of not having exhausted hands after decorating with traditional bags versus how I just can't make this comfortable in my hands is a real toss up for me. And the handles doesn't really make it any easier because of where I have to place my hands and then still depress the plunger is also different. If these issues don't matter to you, than I think you could be pleased with this, I, however, and kinda bummed out about it. It is just meh for me.
