I have 41 years experience owning a photography studio and the majority is commercial and product projects. Over the years I have used various diffusion materials to make custom built light tents for shooting products such as silverware, coins and various other metal items that have a mirror-like appearance and therefore reflecting whatever it is in line with. This kit is a great idea to have it easily snap together but there are issues. First of all the material is not best suited for this purpose because the plastic sheeting is too translucent. This could be good in some circumstances if you want to have highlighted spectral elements to reflect in the subject. However, from my experience you want to avoid that because it becomes a distraction from the product you are shooting, creating elements that are not part of the item but is in fact the light source. That is the point of “diffusion” in the first place. So, a more opaque plastic material would be better for most applications. This leads to the second issue and that is the snaps to keep the cones together. When I was constructing my custom cones I used transparent tape so it would not add elements that would be a distraction to the image. Yes, it’s really neat to have the snaps opposed to the tape, which I was constantly replacing, but those snaps will show in the reflection of the product.Fortunately in this age of digital editing these things can be easily retouched out but why have them in the first place? The manufacturer could have used transparent snaps, I have seen that they are available, to lessen the impact that the snaps would appear as in the reflections of the product. In conclusion this is a nice set, although a little pricey, you can buy a roll of opaque plastic material and make your own cones for about half the price.

If you do product photography and typically shoot smalls, these provide an excellent way to get a more diffuse light source without having to setup your larger light with modifiers. This comes with three different sizes of cones with a range of circumference between 14.4"-20.9" so you have some options depending on the object you are photographing. It provides a nice diffuse light source so that you eliminate shadows and dark areas in your photography/videos. Simple setup and and stores compact for storage. A great option for budget setups.

There are three sizes of diffusers in this pack that comes in a reusable cardboard tube. The basics are, you move the diffuser from the light to the product with similar effects. This is really useful when you have bright lights or reflective surfaces on the product you're shooting. The diffuser eliminated the hard shadows as well as the glares and hot spots. To demonstrate this, I pulled in my favorite ornamental plant and shot without the diffuser and with the diffuser. The final image, showing how I set the shot.Overall, this is really effective and works as intended. The construction is good and the snaps on the diffusers keep them in shape nicely. The material is thick and does wipe up easily if you're using it around food.My only real concern with this set is the price which seems a bit expensive for what you're getting. That said, if they last and win you jobs with great images, its well worth the price.

I take pictures of tools I use to show folks how to repair wheelchairs. When I use a chroma mat so I can use them for video thumbnails, the harsh glare of the lights make it much harder to key out without losing parts of the bright metal. Two of them are perfect for overhead rigs and mirrorless cameras. I also used the one with a smaller hole for phone cameras but it would be great with a smaller camera like the Sony ZV-1 ii. The phone camera version is the perfect height to have the object still in the macro focus mode.Con:Out of the three cones, the phone version had a defect where one of the snaps was missing the wires that hold the snap together. The other two were as described.

The NEEWER 3 Pack Light Cone Set is an absolute game-changer for my product photography setup. The upgraded 0.5mm thick material provides excellent light diffusion, eliminating harsh shadows and unwanted reflections—especially when shooting reflective objects like jewelry or glass. Each cone (14”, 15”, and 20”) is lightweight, durable, and easy to set up over my lights. The results are incredibly clean, soft, and professional-looking images without the need for a bulky light box. These cones are perfect for detail shots and e-commerce work. If you’re serious about your photography, this set is a smart and affordable investment!

I've used these cones for two different product shoots so far, with limited usefulness. The bigger issue is the comes being too translucent, unable to control light as much as I would like. The more minor things is why are the snaps holding them together metal and shiny? In some photos, it required another step or three to deal with errant reflections.I don't think I'll have much use for these, even if the idea behind them sounds good.
