The edges on the bottom bracket spindle were not square; thereby, allowing intrusion into the cranck bolt hole before it tightened up. This meant that the close fitting crank I was going to use with 2mm expected clearance could not be used!! I would have had to order a 122.5 bottom bracket when the charts prescribed a 118mm bottom bracket. The one I ordered was 119mm bottom bracket.

searched and searched for the correct size. so here we are, close enough. comes in a box w/bolts, great. changed my 3 pc crank to cartridge. bought another before this one, came with cup side damaged.no box just plastic bag. no bother to send back, put it in the back of my supply rack. but yes, can't go wrong with this one. it will outlast me. (i'm 67).

Set out to buy the strongest version of this component I could find. (I'm a heavy rider). Took ages to arrive. The package was poorly packed, with some components outside the squashed damaged box within the Amazon envelope. None appeared to be overtly damaged. When fitted, bearings were initially OK but became grindy and problematic after about 100km riding (in clean conditions - ingress of dirt/water is not responsible). As bad as the bearings I set out to replace, which at least lasted six months and were considerably cheaper. Underwhelmed by the quality.

My original part was steel housing and cups. This replacement is aluminum. It's much lighter. I believe the durability is not affected by using aluminum. My old part came out (I needed to use a bracelet removal tool) easily. My new part installed easily. It took me about 20 min. So far, so good! 🙂

I ordered this BB instead of others in the same price range (such as Shimano UN55) because it came with crank arm bolts, or so the description says. This BB is to replace a mid-80's style Sugino bottom bracket (the original on a 1985 Trek 300) that used nuts to attach the crank arms to the spindle. I didn't want to spend an extra $7-$10 on crank arm bolts as this BB was going on my bike trainer BB. I received the package today and it did NOT come with crank arm bolts. I went to my local bike shop and they gave me (no charge) crank arm bolts from their spare parts bin. If you don't have crank arm bolts, buyer beware! The description says they come with bolts but mine did not. Had I known that I would have opted for the UN55 as Shimano is a much better known brand vs. Neco. The quality of the Neco seems fine. I installed it today and I'll do my first trainer ride today.

Le moyeu est très bien construit et fini avec les bords arrondis et un centrage parfait. Les vis de pédalier sont elles aussi d'excellente construction et munies de sceaux qui en empêchent l'oxydation.

Bei meinem Fahrrad zerbröselten die Plastikschalen von einem Shimano Innenlager.Raus bekam man das dann aber gut.Als Ersatz habe ich dieses Innenlager eingebaut. Da das Fahrrad einen Alurahmen hat, sind bei diesem Innenlager auch keine Probleme mit Kontaktkorrosion zu erwarten, die es bei Lagern mit Stahlschalen geben kann, so meine Erfahrung.Da blüht dann der Rahmen und das Lager ist nur mühsam rauszubekommen.Das Lager läuft sehr leicht und sieht dank der silbernen Vierkante auch optisch gut aus.Mein Fahrradhändler verwendet dieses Fabrikat seit Jahren: Daher sein Tipp!
