About this item

  • This simple Pen Press is designed to be used in conjunction with your lathe. There are two nylon pads, the white one has a small dimple in the centre to hold the nib in line. The black pad has a concave dome cut into it to make sure the other end of the pen is also held central and stops it from slipping out.
  • Both pads come supplied on a 2 morse taper shaft.
  • To use the pen press. Put the white pad into the headstock taper and the black pad into the tailstock, insert the nib into the white pad and slide the tails stock in until the black pad is pressed against the other end and lock off.
  • Simply wind the tailstock shaft forward which will press the pen parts together. Once the parts are pressed together unwind the tailstock and remove the pen.

Excellent accessory for pen makers and other small projects that might require a press that fits in your lathe. Previously, I'd been using a set of 3D-printed inserts to assemble my pen, but you get what you don't pay for. These are much sturdier and don't deform as readily as cheaper plastic inserts. Would recommend!

Great accessory for those that turn pens. This tool easily fits into my mini lathe to insert pen blanks onto pen refill assemblies. The material for the head pieces are made of a durable material while also protecting pen surfaces from becoming damaged. The is a great tool for pen makers.
