While these seem to be very heavy duty and well made, they don't fit my Dewalt saw, even though my saw is on the list of approved models. The hole on my saw is a full inch lower than the track on these. I liked that they came with an alternative to use with a non threaded hole, and if they fit your saw, the would be a huge help when cutting crown just be cautious that they might not fit.

Ladies and gentlemen, prepare to embark on a woodworking odyssey with the Miter Saw Crown Stops, a stellar accessory that transforms the already formidable Hercules 12-Inch Dual-Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw into a precision-cutting juggernaut! As a devoted DIY enthusiast with a penchant for dramatic flair, I can proclaim—nay, declare—that these crown stops are the unsung heroes of my workshop, delivering robust performance and a fit so seamless it’s practically cosmic. Allow me to guide you through this testament to their greatness, with the gravitas of a starship captain charting a new course.First, let’s talk robustness. These crown stops are built like a Klingon battle cruiser—tough, unyielding, and ready for action. Crafted from high-grade steel with a sleek, powder-coated finish, they shrug off the rigors of daily use. Whether I’m wrestling with hefty oak crown molding or delicate pine trim, these stops hold firm, refusing to budge under pressure. I’ve subjected them to marathon cutting sessions—hours of slicing through 7-1/2-inch nested crown molding and 6-3/4-inch baseboards—and not once have they shown signs of wear, warping, or wobbling. Their durability is a testament to engineering excellence, designed to withstand the vibrations and impacts of a high-powered 15 AMP, 4100 RPM motor like the one powering my Hercules saw. These stops are not just accessories; they’re workshop warriors, built to last through countless projects. Now, let’s address the fit on my Hercules 12-Inch Sliding Compound Miter Saw. Oh, the harmony! These crown stops slide into the saw’s mounting slots with the precision of a photon torpedo locking onto its target. The Hercules HE74, with its robust dual-bevel sliding design, is a beast of a machine, and these stops are its perfect companion. They attach effortlessly to the saw’s base, locking into place with a satisfying click that assures you they’re ready for duty. The fit is so snug, it’s as if the stops were custom-molded for the Hercules—no play, no slippage, just a rock-solid connection. I’ve tested them with the saw’s full range of motion, from 60° right to 50° left miter angles, and they remain steadfast, ensuring my crown molding stays perfectly aligned for those intricate compound cuts. The functionality of these crown stops is where they truly shine, elevating my woodworking to new frontiers. They’re designed to hold crown molding securely against the fence, allowing me to make repeatable, precise cuts without the material shifting—a must for achieving gap-free joints in picture frames, cabinets, or room trim. The stops feature adjustable positioning, letting me fine-tune their placement to accommodate various molding profiles, from 3-inch to 7-1/2-inch nested cuts. This versatility is a game-changer, especially when paired with the Hercules’ Precision LED Shadow Guide, which casts a crisp shadow line for flawless blade alignment. Together, they create a symphony of accuracy, ensuring every cut is as clean as a freshly printed star chart.Installation? A breeze, even for a novice like my cousin, who once mistook a screwdriver for a hammer. The stops come with clear instructions and require no tools beyond a quick twist of their locking knobs. Once mounted, they stay put, yet they’re easy to remove when I need to switch to cross-cutting 2x12s or beveling baseboards. The dust collection port on the Hercules, while not perfect, works better with the stops in place, as they help stabilize the workpiece, reducing debris scatter. Are there downsides? Perhaps a minor quibble: the stops could include a rubberized grip for even more secure clamping, but this is like complaining about a lack of dilithium crystals in a warp core—it’s a small nitpick in an otherwise stellar package. For the price, these crown stops deliver unmatched value, transforming my Hercules into a crown-molding-conquering colossus. In conclusion, the Miter Saw Crown Stops are a robust, perfectly fitting addition to my Hercules 12-Inch Sliding Compound Miter Saw. They’ve made my woodworking projects—whether crafting crown molding for a dining room or framing a galactic masterpiece—more precise, efficient, and downright enjoyable. Beam these into your workshop, and watch your cuts soar to new heights!

I have a DeWalt sliding compound miter saw so when I saw this product, I had to have it! 😊 Sadly, it does not fit the DeWalt DWS779.When I returned to the Amazon website and the online product description, I got even more confused. The list of compatible saws is different in the online information than what is in the instruction sheet that came with the product. The instruction sheet lists the DWS780, but not my DWS779. But the online description does not list the DWS780, but does list DWS7084, which is not in the instruction sheet! I’m so confused! ☹Regardless, I’ll take the blame for not scrutinizing the supported models. The product seems to be solid and should work well, IF it fits your saw. I could not find any way to adapt the product to my saw, but I will continue to investigate my options. I’m sure you will have better success.

Updated review:I was able to modify the miter saw table for my SKIL 10" sliding miter saw. The modifications were quite simple. I simply placed the brackets on the table in the all the way back position, marked a spot to drill and tap on the table. I have included some pictures for those of you wondering how to do the same on your own miter saw.The included knobs had 6 mm - 1.0 thread,. Since the miter saw table is cast aluminum, the drilling went very smoothly. I drilled with a ⅛" first followed by 7/32" drill bit (that's all I had on hand). Tapping with 6mm-1.0 tap was very simple as the table's metal walls aren't very thick. Also, one can drill a 6 mm through hole and use the included spring nuts from the back but I think tapping is cleaner.Note that one doesn't have to remove these brackets off the miter saw as one can swing them up and over the fence and put it out of the way. I chose a screw location such that I can push the bracket all the way to the fence. This way, I can also use the bracket to hold thin materials against the fence.I am very happy with this jig. Still worth 5 stars.Original Review:This is a good quality accessory for miter saw. The metals are nicely finished, comes with threaded knobs to affix to the miter saw table and they even included clip nuts in case the miter saw doesn't have threaded attachment points. In my case, there were threaded mounting points but they were larger diameter and the included bolts in this jig went clear through them. I was able to however attach them with the included clip nuts. However it didn't fit my SKIL 10" sliding dual bevel miter saw as the mounting hole is too low and the jig doesn't ride flat. But since the miter saw base is cast aluminum, I might be able to thread new mounting holes at the right thread size and still use these. If I can't, I may have to return but I think I can make it work.By the way, this jig can be used for non-crown molding applications as well. I often cut 2x4's on my miter saw and when you work with long pieces, it's sometimes not very easy to ensure they are flat against the fence. With these, one can make sure the long 2x4 runs flat against the fence on both sides of the blade.
