Considering a lot of brushes are quite expensive I wasn’t too sure how these would perform but read the reviews and the majority were positive. And they were right, really great set and perfect for painting warhammer 40k, especially for the fine detail spaces. Finally I can paint eyes instead of what ever you would class the ones before. They’re also a lot more comfortable to handle than a lot of other brushes.

Qualité parfaite pour ces pinceaux. Les poils restent bien en place si on les mouille bien avant de remettre le capuchon à la fin de leur utilisation. Le travail de peinture sur figurine est soigné. Je recommande

These frayed and split almost *immediately*. By the time I'd done a single model, they were essentially useless. Truly disappointing for a set at this price point. I've had throwaway dollar store brushes hold a point better and longer than these did. Won't be buying brushes from TAP again.

This is the third time I have ordered this product during the past ten years. All three brushes are useful from applying a base coat, dry brushing and fine detail. With adequate cleaning they will last several years.

Being a YouTuber, I get the chance to try a lot of great products. Army painter has been one that I currently do not have a relationship with, so everything is bought with hard earned money. With that said, these brushes are top notch without spending a lot of money. Trust me guys, you’ll want to pick these up and won’t need to worry about other brushes. They also make a great dry brush line as well. Really can’t say enough to do this company justice.

This brush set is incredible. It’s my first set of Army Painter brushes and I’m already absolutely loving the quality and wanting to expand my Army Painter collection. The insane detail brush is really just that, it’s so insanely fine that I use it to paint the tiny 1/8” emblems on my ‘Mech minis. As for the other brushes, I haven’t got to explore the technique of dry brushing yet, but I know the regiment brush will be very handy for putting those base coats on before picking up the insane detail brush for the rest.

***Updated review (2/28/2015) - I've gotten better at managing my brushes. I'm now able to keep a tip on these. I ordered the "monster" version of these brushes and love it. It's larger then all the brushes in this pack and easily keeps a tip with a nice fat belly for holding paint. I use it for pretty much everything. Lines, eyes, most detail work. I used the "insane" detail brush the other night for some teeth and it worked out well... I do recommend these brushes now, though I also suggest looking into the "Monster" brush since it works great as a main brush for general use. After getting better with these brushes, and especially after getting that "Monster" brush in, I'm wishing I hadn't jumped the gun and ordered 3 "Winsor and Newton" brushes. These Army Painter brushes are working out great. I think I'll just keep the "Winsor and Newton" brushes to the side for now.----------------------------------------------------------The Regiment brush lost its tip on the first mini. The insane detail brush did the same and can't even pull a good straight line on a pallet. The Dry brush seems to be pretty good. No issues with it.I'm now using the Regiment brush to apply blood and wash to my zombies. It's really good at this and I'm able to get really sweet blood affects with it.I'm new to painting my mini's, but, I did a lot of research into brush maintenance before getting these. I don't poke with them. I don't fully submerge in water. I don't allow the paint to dry on them or get into the base. I clean my brushes after every use with "Masters Brush Cleaner" and form a point after every use making sure to replace the caps on the brushes. None of this seemed to help these brushes.I would not recommend as main brushes. The cheap brushes I picked up from a crafts store hold a better point. I ordered 3 "Winsor & Newton Series 7" to replace these.**Love the Army Painter paints. I'm using the brush that came with one of my Army Painter paint sets for smaller details right now.

After using this set for a while, I have discovered that this set is a mixed bag. First, two of out of the three brushes (the Insane Detail and Regiment) have a triangular shape to them. The Small Drybrush is a standard round-handled brush. The triangle brush handles serve two purposes: the first is that it is more comfortable to hold in a standard "pencil" grip and the second is that they do not roll on the table when you lay them flat. The Insane Detail brush has a very fine point, but unfortunately has a tendency to "fishtail" or have the point split into two lines when drawing a brush stroke. You can easily shape it back to a fine point, but it will occasionally repeat this behavior, even with minimal pressure. For detail work, such as eyes, this is very annoying. I have tried thinning the paint down quite a bit, and this helps a little bit but not enough. Also, because the point is so small, paint tends to dry on the brush even before you get to lay it down. This is really not the fault of this brush in particular, just an observation. The Small Drybrush is neither great nor terrible, it is decidedly average. I have used similar style stubby synthetic brushes and I do not notice any perceivable difference. Not a whole lot to say about it, really. It holds its shape reasonably well, and being synthetic means it can take a bit more abuse than a natural hair brush can. This is useful since drybrushing itself is a bit rough of brushes. The Regiment is a natural Rotmarder hair (Weasel; Kolinsky) brush that has shined in this set. I have used it extensively, and it keeps a nice fine point and doesn't tend to split or fish-tail much. I haven't had the opportunity to compare it to the gold standard Kolinsky sable brushes out there (W&N Series 7, Raphael 8404), but compared to the inexpensive hobby brushes I have purchased thus far, it is outstanding. It is a very good size for base-coating smaller miniatures, such as Warhammer infantry or D&D-style figurines. The point is suitable for most applications, save very small eyes. All in all, a very good brush for the application. All in all, the Regiment brush alone in my pack is very good - quality might differ from package to package, but from my experience the Regiment brush is an easy recommendation, especially for the price.
