Micro-Mark Multipurpose Foam Clay Is The Secret Weapon For Railroad Modelers, Diorama Builders, Cosplayers, And More! This is one of those unique, new products you'll wish you had all along. Incredibly light-weight, instantly sculptable, infinitely moldable, and immediately intuitive, Micro-Mark Foam Clay can be used to create almost anything, from amazingly realistic simulated rock faces, stone walls, and other landscape elements on model railroads and dioramas, to larger-than-life wearable masks, embellishments and more for cosplay and costuming. Ready-to-use right out of the bag, you can simply tear off a piece and get to work. Sculpt it freehand or with tools, press it into a mold or onto textured surfaces, roll it out and cut it into shapes. This non-toxic, odor-free, non-staining material does pretty much whatever you want, better than you can imagine. Once dry, whatever you’ve made can be painted, weathered, glued, etc. You can also build fresh Foam Clay onto your existing creations. Just keep in mind that the material will shrink a bit as it dries. And when we say Foam Clay is light-weight we mean it…the entire bag weighs only 500 g (and even less when dry), yet provides plenty of material for a multitude of projects. As with any new medium, trial and error experimentation will yield the best results, but the fun factor begins as soon as you open the bag.

You can't go wrong with Micro-Mark products, and this foam clay is no exception. Easy to form and mold, dries hard (leave it for a couple of days to harden properly), takes paint well, and can be cut, sanded, sculpted, etc. You get a large 500g bag, more than enough to last a very long time for most hobby applications (unless you're sculpting mountains or something). It's fun just to play with, and remember that what you can do with it is limited by your own creativity -- If you've never sculpted clay before, practice a while to get the feel for it. I started by just pinching off a bit, rolling it into a ball and letting it dry thoroughly, then cutting and sanding it with my hobby tools, just to learn how it works. You get so much in the bag that you can afford to "waste" some for practice. There are a lot of foam clay tutorials and videos online, too.The only issue I have is that the bag itself is completely packed with clay, and it's a bit difficult to seal up again if you only need a small amount. I recommend keeping it tightly sealed in an airtight container after opening, to make sure it doesn't dry out. Highly recommended for pretty much any kind of modeling hobby. You'll find plenty of new uses for it the more you use it!

Unlike any air dry clay I've used .Very easy to manipulate , doesn't stick to your fingers .Can be made into paper thin sheets that hold their shape .Thick sections will take well over 24 hours to dry out ; high water weight when fresh .Evaporation slows down considerably once the outer " crust " dries on thick pieces .After 24 hours @ 78 degrees and about 60% humidity , the 3.1 gram sample I experimented with weighs 1.2 grams ... and after 48 hrs weighs just 1/2 gram ,, and I don't think it's fully dry yet .Definitely worth the price .Very versatile .My only complaint is the bag it comes in .It is a zipper lock bag but you need to remove a fair amount of the product before you'll be able to engage the zipper .It's stuffed full when new .I fit the bag into a plastic container ( Folgers coffee 43.5oz can ) with an inch of water at the bottom to ensure it doesn't dry out until I use enough to be able to close the bag .Most likely keep it in that can regardless , just to be safe .

I used this in my miniatures when I was building a mountain. This is great stuff! I also made an imprint of my dining room leg bottom which was uneven. Now all 4 legs are even. I would highly recommend this for a whole lot of different applications.
