These did not work for crayola paint but can be colored with markers. Nice size, brushes are great addition, and can be used for a variety of crafts.

I used these small round styrofoam discs for faux flower arrangements. They fit perfectly in the vases I used. These are thin and sturdy. The stems did not create a wider hole. I like that these can be for a variety of craft projects.

I had wanted to make a friendship bracelet banner with this but they are a bit too thin to work well, but they are still useful for other purposesAlso some type of primer or something will be needed to get the paint to adhere to the styrofoam circles and they do not take well to paintIt's a great price though and my grands have enjoyed playing with them

I admit I really used the photos to decide to make this selection but was not happy with the size they actually were when I received them. I feel the photos made them appear to be a lot larger than what you receive and that is only reason I gave 4 stars is because I felt pictures were not accurate representation. They did come with a nice paint brush set. I can still use the foam circles for craft project but not for the one I got them for. They are smooth foam. Pieces are all intact when received. I guess my best advice is to read the specs of the product and not shop with your eyes at the photographs of the product.

When you paint or draw on these, the material comes off. They just don't have any resilience.That said, for many crafts, these are adequate. They are light weight but these aren't used for anything that requires more.

I have bought thicker versions of these in the past to use as "beads" on giant friendship bracelet garlands. Please be aware that if that is your intention, these are too thin for that.That said, they have many other uses, and $5 is a nice price for 20 of them *plus* paintbrushes.
