I’m a 30 year Union Carpenter and have used screw guns my entire career. I just recently finished my basement and did all the carpentry…duh! I framed the walls and soffits with 25 gauge metal stud and bought this Makita cordless screw gun for the drywall because my old Black & Decker screw gun finally died after sooo many years. This was the best price I found for the gun, even better than big box stores. I used this gun to install 130 boards in my basement and was very impressed with the quality and durability of this gun. Also, if you’re familiar with the old Makita corded guns, they used to be screamers, but this gun is very quite and a pleasure to use. I highly recommend if you are looking for a cordless screw gun. You will not be disappointed.

This may be one of the best tool purchases I have made in a long while.I bought this for a small drywall job, knowing I am building a new house next year and it will get used a lot then.However, I have found it indispensable for general screw driving, especially in soft woods.Rather than using my regular drill or a driver, I can set this to drive the screw head to just even with the wood.I recently built 9 pairs of window shutters out of red cedar. Each shutter was glued plus 12 screws to hold them together.Cedar wood splits very easily. Using this screw gun I was able to set each of those 216 screws perfectly without any fear of splitting or going too deep.Highly recommended.
