The handheld fish finder detection range is in a 45° beam angle underwater. The detection range of the sonar sensor is 3f to 328ft below the fishing sonar transducer. Ways of Using Sonar Housing
It’s better to dig the hole and put wired sonar sensor through the ice layer and touch the water.If you want to use this without digging when on ice fishing please cleaning the snow on the ice and make sure there is no air between the ice and the sonar transducer.
The wired sonar transducer could be attached to the hull of the boat or kayak,just keep the speed of the hull below 5mph.

Took the unit out on the ice and it took no time at all to find the water depth and locate fish. I had a friend with me who brought his under water camera and we confirmed what my fish finder was saying that we were on fish. Love the unit will definitely be in my tackle bag for all fishing trips

This does not give accurate depths. I got what I paid for. Cheap useless "fish" finder.

Cet appareil détecte des poissons même s'il n'y en a pas. Vaut mieux payer plus cher si vous en avez vraiment besoin. Je l'ai essayer pour la pêche blanche... puis j'ai acheter une caméra sous-marine

This arrived on time.and didn't disappoint. Used it for ice fishing. Depth was bang on and every time the alarms went off marking fish, we started getting action. For the money this is a great buy.
