There were minimal reviews on this item so I was skeptical. I didn't know how thick it would be. However, upon receiving, I must say that I am pretty pleased. It is pretty thick due to the tightly braided cloth. I'd say the cloth feels like cotton so it is soft, but again, since it's so tightly woven, hopefully durable as well.I got this for my 37 lb. Australian Shepherd because she loves chewing on cloth instead of hard toys. I got this as sort of a "permitted" destroyable toy. So far she's only chewed it a little but I imagine it would last a while with light chewing. If you want it for a tug toy it would likely last even longer although it is not very long so it wouldn't be the best tug toy around but still definitely tuggable. Also, the "ball" at the end isn't really a ball. Not sure what it's made out of but it feel softer, maybe like a foam (very firm) or cloth ball. Not sure, but keep an eye out for your dog if they chew through it as you obviously wouldn't want them to ingest foam (assuming that's what it's made of). However, for my intended purposes, it it perfect and just the right size for my Aussie.

Our Australian Shepherd loves to play tug of war. He chews and destroys everything so quickly. We only let him use it while we are playing with him. He loves it, and it helps get his energy out. The only issue we had is that the ball was too large for him to get his mouth around, so we let him have the handle end. Within seconds, the handle end had come unraveled. It appears that the whole thing is made out of socks that have been woven together.

My girl loves to play tug o war with anything that has two ends, but she's starting to get to that age where I worry about her teeth when she begins getting rough. This dog toy fit my needs! It's soft enough for her teeth, but durable enough for her to chew and tug on.It is made out of a sock like material that is thick and braided tightly, with a nice big ball on the end. It's about 22 inches long, perfect for avoiding those accidental hand bites! The ball on the end has a nice weight to it so you can throw it pretty far as well. She was so excited when she first laid her eyes on it and it has officially become her new favorite dog toy!

This tug is BIG! Which is a great thing!I am quite impressed by the quality of this tug toy. It is kind of heavy and substantial. The material is soft, but not overly so. This tug feels like it can really take a beating. My dog will play tug and fetch all day long if he can. This toy immediately got his attention. He would not let it go, and carried it around the house, showing it off to our entire family as if it was a new prize. I like the extra weight of this tug because it allows me to throw it a good distance when we're playing fetch. You won't be disappointed in this tug. Highly recommended!!!

While the color of this was not an option, I am pleased with the one I received. It is a nice two-year toned blue. The ball end is large and durable. The rope braid is tough, but soft. There is a good loop on the end that does not hurt my hand. It withstands chewing and tugging. A solid purchase!

Works well for a supervised game of tug. Soft material. Our dog likes pulling on it. Colorful material. Would not recommend unsupervised chewing on this toy since the material will shred.

I absolutely adore long tug toys and this tug toy is perfect in my opinion. I received the blue version. I appreciate that the chosen colors are the ones dogs can see. The tug is a fabric material, so it's not hard or abrasive on the dogs teeth. The fabric isn't weak either. My pup has been going at it and we have yet to have any rips or tears. The handle is also nicely cushioned so I can hold without getting tired. Overall, both my pup and I love playing with this toy. I will say, this is ideal for a larger/older pup (I have a 53lb standard poodle, if he was any smaller I think he'd be uncomfortable trying to bite the ball portion).

This is a great toy! Very well made with strong weave. I have 2 dogs that are 85 lbs each and BIG wrestlers, tuggers, pullers and chewers and they have both enjoyed this toy. It’s even strong enough to be pulled between the two of them without ripping to shreds. I would definitely get this again for my pups!**Update several days later I found the younger of the 2 chewing the heck out of the ball at the end. It was hard for him to initially get into it, but it is cloth and that rips and it's stuffed with what looks like pieces of sock elastic cut in slivers and wrapped around each other until it makes a big ball at the end. We had to take all those pieces out of it because they were the perfect size for him to swallow, get them stuck in his intestines and need surgery (can you tell I've had that happen before?) Now, that those pieces are gone he's still having a blast with it and it's no longer a danger to him.
