Obervant Jews are not permitted to turn lights on or off during Shabbot. These lamps work like a "dark lantern" to obscure the light without having to switch it on or off. We've been using them in our bedroom for years and love them. We frequently give them as a wedding presents to newly-weds in our community. Highly recommended!

The LEDIARY Shabbos Lamp in pink offers a unique blend of functionality and style, designed specifically for Shabbat observance. Its dimmable LED light, controllable by twisting the top, avoids the need for physical switches, aligning with religious practices. The lamp includes a durable aluminum shade and base, and is powered via a corded electric source with USB connectivity. It's lightweight, modern, and versatile for various rooms. The inclusion of a replaceable LED bulb ensures long-term use and ease of maintenance. This lamp not only serves as practical lighting but also as a decorative element, suitable for gifting.

Those who observe the Jewish Sabbath do not turn lights on or off for about 25 hours every week, from Friday night sundown until Saturday night after three stars can be seen in the sky. The same is true for the evening before Jewish holidays to the night after. Lamps like these are designed to make those days pleasant and light-filled. This one is beautiful in a guestroom, and I'll probably buy more.

I have the other kosher lamp but bought this one recently because it looks better designed and it was also less expensive. I've attached pictures of both my old one and this new one.Merits on its own: I like the design, I like how it functions, and I have no complaints.Merits compared to my other kosher lamp: my other kosher lamp is the ubiquitous one you see everywhere. It's made of cheap plastic, while this new one is made of metal so it feels better quality. The old one is a weird hexagon shape and this one is clean and round in design. The old one is more expensive for no reason that I can decipher, while this one seems all around better quality and less expensive.
