I make handbags, and hoped that this faux leather would work for that purpose. Some of my handbags have been all vinyl (faux leather) and most have had some vinyl trim on them. This vinyl comes in a good-sized roll. It is very soft and flexible, band it has what I would call a very good-quality backing. What I am uncertain about is the texture of the vinyl finish. Most of my vinyls would pass for leather. (I recently made a crossbody for my mom, and no one can tell if it’s leather or not.) This particular vinyl has a sort of fine “pebbled” surface. No one would be fooled into thinking it was leather…it seems a bit cheap to me and I would worry about how long it would hold up. Good vinyl (in my opinion) does not stretch; this vinyl has some two-way stretch to it. I may make some zipper pouches out of it, but I would not order it again for my purposes. With that said, I can see where some people would find good purposes for it. It would be great, because of its flexibility for doll accessories, for example. It would be a dream to sew for small items, and you could easily use a domestic machine. But I would not use it for straps, belts, bracelets, or earrings. I would want a vinyl with a bit more body for those purposes.

I've used faux leather for several projects in the recent past, including office chair armrests and a Microsoft keyboard palm rest. This particular faux leather feels slightly thicker to me than what I'm used to, which is a plus for durability. The mesh fabric side has a good feel to it and the faux leather side has a genuine leather look to it. Based on previous experience, I expect this to hold up well. I'll update the review if I encounter any issues. A bit odd, but the box was marked 36"x12", but the roll inside was the 54"x12" that was advertised in the listing. The pricing is definitely reasonable for the quality I'm seeing here. Would recommend.

This faux leather has a knitted backing on it that makes it easy to cut and stitch. It's fairly thin, so it can be used for smaller items like wallets, clutch bags, or doll shoes. I would not recommend it for upholstery use--it's not heavy enough for that application. It might be good for patching upholstery, though. Be cautious with stitching. Like most faux leather materials, the needle may leave visible holes, so if you have to pick and restitch, it's best to try to hit the same holes. I ordered the black material and it's probably dark enough to hide any mistakes, but lighter colors may make them more visible. This is a good price point, and there's enough here that I can make several small items.

I am very pleased with this order. I plan to use it to cover a scrapbook I have made. It is the perfect thickness for my needs and seems to be a nice quality fabric. It has a really great texture on it that provides a nice soft feel as well as some detail and interest. I have to glue the material to some chipboard, so the texture on the back works to provide a little bit of a porous surface for my glue to adhere to. Therefore, overall I am pleased with this order and would recommend it to others.

Decent quality faux leather for the cost. I get most of my faux leather from a small family-owned business that is very high quality so my comparison is from their stuff to this one. I found that this faux leather was a bit rougher to the feel &, most significantly, was stiffer. However, cutting it with the original fine point blade on my Cricut Maker 3 was no problem using the same settings that I use for my other leathers. The color (black) was good & I really like that it is colorfast as well. (Found that out when I accidentally spilled water on it while creating fun things). Definitely recommend for newbies to faux leather & those who are trying to keep the budget friendly!

This roll of faux leather arrived rolled with the reverse side facing out, which I appreciated—it keeps the finished surface protected in transit. The material itself is impressively realistic, with a deep, accurate black and a clean, even grain that feels authentic at a glance and to the touch.I’ve worked with a lot of leather over the years, and if you glued this to a book cover and asked me to pick out the faux from the bonded leather, I could do it—but only because I know what to look for. It’s that convincing. The backing is well-made—textured just enough to take glue cleanly, with a good balance between flexibility and structure. I plan to use it for crafting small book covers, and I’m confident it will hold up beautifully.Unlike many faux leather items I’ve seen start to peel after a few years, this finish seems durable and well bonded. It doesn’t have that brittle, plasticky feel that sometimes gives away a lower-quality alternative.Whether you’re crafting or upholstering, this is a material worth working with—high quality, forgiving to use, and beautiful to look at. At this price, and with all its possible applications, I would say it is a very good buy.

I ordered this faux leather material to make interior door handle covers for a vehicle. My son has a very nice vehicle, but the company seems to have skimped on the material they used to cover the handle in the interior you use to pull the door shut. This area has become sticky and gummy. When you put your hand on it, the goo transfers onto it.I think this material will work great for what I need it for. It looks durable and is very soft and flexible, and should work well for wrapping around the handle to cover it. I use Velcro to hold the ends together. I have made cloth handle covers before, but I think the faux leather fabric will look more professional. I ordered the color black because that is what his interior color is. I will add a photo of my project after I complete it. I will also add the sewing ability of the material.
