This is awesome. I have an external mouse because I hate the trackpad. It's light, compact, and it fits in my backpack with my laptop. I have one in the car and a couple throughout the house now. The extension for the mouse goes on either side for you lefties. But the best is that the added extension helps it to balance flat on my lap without squishing my legs together. Great buy!If I had time, I'd take it apart and strategically drill holes in it to reduce more weight for laptop purposes, and the front lip really isn't necessary since the grippy pads do all the work to avoid sliding.

I like this laptop desktop, I use it in bed & in my easy chair, my laptop got so very hot so much so that I shut it down because I couldn’t stand the heat, but now I don’t have this problem, there’s a small lip so it cannot slide off the top, there are rubberized pads that stop it slipping around, & a small mouse pad that you can pull either out one side or the other, I use it all the time now, but it is small , it has a hard surface that my wireless mouse works fine, there are two small feet near the front edge, I don’t use them & see no need for me to do so.I like it, & well worth the price.

I've been using this device for a few weeks and am very happy with it. I originally bought it for the integrated mouse pad but didn't use that feature until very recently. I am pleasantly surprised with how functional the mouse pad is, even though it appears to be quite small. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a lightweight laptop tray.

I recently purchased a gaming laptop that has a graphics card capable of running my CAD software. Problem is that the laptop runs hot - especially if it doesn't have sufficient ventilation. Being used on my lap, the ventilation vents on the bottom get covered by the fabric of my clothing - so hot laptop = hot lap. I just needed a hard surface to allow the laptop to breath. I purchased this lap desk for that purpose. I immediately noticed my legs weren't burning up anymore and the laptop was able to cool itself.As a bonus, the mouse tray is pretty sturdy even though I don't use a mouse. It is a single piece internally the width of the desk that can slide out on either side roughly 6-7 inches, so the fact that it is so long enables it to be nice and rigid when extended.

What I love:-it's lightweight and reversible; I wanted a lap desk for writing by hand as often as on my laptop, and it's awesome that this easily fits the bill for both-the lip can be hidden; my wrists don't have to sit on a permanent lip or non-slip ridge but the option is there if I want the extra non-slip protection-decent heat protection; it doesn't offer as much protection as a padded style desk, but it's still much better than having nothing-large mousepad; it comfortably accommodates a full-size mouse-lip on the end of the mousepad; I've had two different mice on that pad, and the lip at the bottom has kept both from sliding off the edge while not actively in use-easily accommodates my 17" laptop; a lot of desks aren't meant for bigger laptops, so I appreciate that this one is. As pictured, it hangs over a tiny bit on both sides, but it's not noticeable at allNitpicking:-lock for mousepad; I do wish there was a way to lock the mousepad in place after you slide it out, since I tend to inadvertently bump it back in while working
