The former all-plastic pneumatic remote on a Kohler whirlpool tub had failed, and we used this to replace it. We found a direct fit replacement on Amazon, but it was plastic also, and we went with this one because it is very well made. It worked like a charm, but, I want to call out that the diameter of the cylinder was narrower than the hole for the plastic body (and probably narrower than the stamped hole in most sinktops for installing it as a garbage disposal control), so we had to add a spacer (a thin slice of a pvc pipe and decorative flange to fit it properly. With that and a bit of caulk, it worked beautifully.
