I don't know what the red brush is for. I doubt it would help to make the kind of decorations seen in the pictures. I imagine the white cardboard would help to wrap the plastic around the cakepop in the plastic, so once you have frosting on it wouldn't get smashed by the plastic wrap. You have to pay attention to how much batter you pour in and remember it will rise. I cut off the curved top in the one shown. It was pretty easy to get the cakepops out when you are done baking, but it did take flipping it over and pushing on the bottom to dislodge them. But that's a benefit of it being silicone rather than hard metal. They sat on the sticks well. It was difficult dislodging it from the plastic when it first came. I didn't want to cut the silicone, so you have to be careful cutting into it.

I used these molds to make resin popsicles. They're a little bit bigger than cakesicles, definitely more like popsicles, but could be used for cakesicles. I feel the stick stayed where it should be. I had no problems getting the stick in, as long as you do it before pouring. They demolded & washed up easily.
