I used it to cut threads in steel for a project. Did a great job with no damage. I tried cheap dies first and it wiped them out. This one cut smooth and clean.

IRWIN Hanson 6520ZR Die 1/4"-20 NC 1" HexMy 50-year old Craftsman die became damaged -- this Irwin works just fine.
