I liked that it came with the backup batteries.It’s used to control exterior holiday lighting.The digital control is great for precise timing.

The digital clock has battery backup so should keep time during power outages. Good replacement for an old analog clock version.

I could hear parts rattling in the container.The plastic retainer or latch was broken ,after some dry fitting it was repaired with superglue.Electronics work fine.

Originally received a refurbished model from Amazon; did not work. Returned and purchased a new one on Amazon; works great for my needs. Note: There is no battery backup; it can retain current time/date setting for 8 hours per manufacturer in the event of power loss. We experienced a recent outage and it did maintain the settings. Beats the 2 mechanical units it replaced.

The product instructions were excellent. And their tech support was quick to get hack to me with even more tips and suggestions. Their tech support was EXCELLENT!However, the screen was monochromatic with black letters on a gray background. Despite the impressive screen size, the text and numbers were small except for the time display which was adequate. Be aware that there is NO backlighting for the display which was disappointing. Despite it being connected to AC power, the screen remains dark and extremely hard to read in a low-light location.
