It works fairly close to expectations, but needs a couple of slight design modifications. I bent in the sides just a bit more to allow for more ash pickup on the sides of the stove. I also ground down the bevel cut on the sides near the mouth of the shovel to allow for dragging the shovel upside down to better pull material from the rear of the stove. It appears to be a very sturdy ash shovel, and should last me the rest of my life.

at a $4.00 price point one cannot expect anything else but cheap Chinese products. This shovel should do the job though; however, the top of the handle has sharp edges and should be used with care and kept away from smaller children.
