Immediately, I noticed how nice this jacket looked. It also hangs really well on the body and has perfect materials, zips and stitching. 35 bucks was a steale l deal. It keeps me warm to about 50 degrees F and can go to 40 if I'm active outside, too. I don't really see it as a midlayer but I guess anything can be a midlayer? Anyway, it is too nice looking to be under a shell IMHO. Do note that it is a slim fit and I find HH to be a bit snug anyway. I wear L or XL in most jackets and the 2XL here fits perfect on me anyway.

First the color online looks like a coyote tan, but this jacket is a dark forest green. The fabric is truly a soft ā not really a soft shell at all. It looks like something that will pull in briars and pill with wear. It was like a hoodie on steroids far too warm for anything other than late fall thru winter. The flap on the front is over a vertical zipper and useless and looks odd stylewise. Iām 6ā and 250lbs and normally wear an XL and bought s 2XL and it was doable, but this was a slim fit jacket. The hood (apparently like all HH) is not stowable and is gigantic with a neck that zips up to make you look like a turtle. The hood is so big that you have to zip the jacket 3/4 up to keep the jacket up on your shoulders. I ended up returning it due to color and it being far to heavy weight for me.
