Too thin and not double enough

I received the white bags in a single cardboard box. They have "THANK YOU" printed on them 7 times, and below it says "Have A Nice Day." They can withstand quite some weight, but I have to be careful with box corners that could slit the bags. I mostly use them to store clothing. I measured one unopened bag while still flat, and it's about a foot by 21 inches. Near the bottom, I see it's made of #2 HDPE plastic and that it's recyclable, but it says to return the bag to a participating store for recycling. I don't know of any stores that recycle shopping bags, so I use them as trash bags as their final purpose.

These bags come in handy.Wet your thumb & third finger to ease opening the bag. I double these bags in a bucket toDeposit soiled cat litter, and tie the handles together when the double bag is full and ready to put into the trash bin.
