I ordered this twice & both times I received used, defective equipment. Neither unit worked properly. Wires had already been crimped & items were scratched, so somebody had returned it & I got sent the dud at full price. Customer service was non responsive. Don’t buy unless you enjoy wasting time & returning boxes.

This retro-reflective sensor seemed very robust and the bracket substantial. I wired it to my Vulcan R6 gate opener using the installed 15 ohm resistor jumper that was in the gate opener's obstruction input. I had to elongate the sensor's supplied 5 conductor wire. I needed about three more feet to reach the input terminals. The sensor worked perfectly for six months, then it failed in a active on condition (red LED on) when we came back from dinner one night. I had to climb over our fence, and manually open the gate. It is still in that state with the LED on. I put the jumper back in the gate opener terminals to allow the gate to function. Vulcan recommends an Omron sensor for the obstruction input. I will try that.

There's no clear instructions in how to install this sensor, we looked all over YouTube, and the internet, and everyone has different wiring diagram we tried acouple of them and non worked. We kept trying until we got it working. Over all once you get it wired up and working it work grate. It's a co-z automatic gate opener.

One year later, still works great! Powering both the door sensor and an LED light from one 12V wall adapter. The highly flexible wiring options (SPST, Normally Open or Normally Closed) gives great flexibility in how to configure it. Just a little basic electrical expertise and it's good to go. Using this in my garage as a visible indicator whether my car has pulled in far enough to allow the garage door to close, so no problems with ambient light and the reflector.Great product, worked from day one and a year later, still working!

Photo beam works great but there is no room for adjustment. If you elongate the holes on the bracket you have more room to adjust.Anthony
