I love that the cups are easy to freeze - lids are great. I try to give my dog healthy distractions because she (incorrectly) believes she's an outdoor dog, even if it's over 100 degrees outside. When we finally get her in, she inhales water, then promptly throws it back up. Less than optimal.I make a mix of baby food (the kind that is only meat and broth and pumpkin or sweet potato) with dog food and freeze that. Works like a charm. Doesn't look like she can hurt it, even with rigorous chewing. Plus it's wide open enough to make it easy to clean. No hidden nooks or crannies that hide who knows what.Always wash your new items before letting your pupper out their slobber all over it. This one def needed it, but I do that anyway.

This treat dispenser has been great in helping my dog crate train. She doesn't love the crate, but knows that when she does have to go in it for a longer period of time, she'll get this treat. While the solid treat dispensing function is fine, I really love using it with frozen treats. It comes with 2 cups / lids and 1 cover w/ hole for dispensing small treats. The hole is not adjustable, which is a very small negative. I filled it with some kibble and it basically just spills out, so it doesn't take very long for my dog to empty it out. However, using the cups for a frozen treat has been great. I mix plain, non-fat Greek yogurt and a little water and it provides my dog with about 20 minutes of lick time. I can see her with my camera and she may start / stop a few times, making it last a little longer. Once she's done, she's usually ready for a nap. Having 2 cups means that I can always have a frozen insert ready to go, which is key. The dispenser itself is pretty heavy and it has held up to attempts at chewing, but given it's size and shape, the dog is not prone to chewing on it. I highly recommend this!

In short: our dogs LOVE these, and I LOVE it because it makes making freezer treats very easy, and takes up no room. More pros and cons ahead:In our 3 dog household, we have a wide assortment of canine enrichment toys and puzzles. Treat toys are popular among them, and the variety we have keeps them interested. They do not like kongs every day, they dont like any one thing all the time. We like treat dispensing toys, and especially seem to love frozen treats. The downside of nearly every treat toy is that they take up a lot of space in the fridge (reember, we have 3 dogs), and I prefer to have multiples ready to go. We got into the mold trays for certain toys that take treats frozen in a mold then popped into the toy. Good but has drawbacks. Looking for a similar style, I came across this. Which brings us to,WHY WE LIKE IT:The toy can be used for treat-dispensing (typical smaller kibble or treats). A governor lid placed inside keeps the exit hole small. Without it the hole is rather large. I think the remaining space could be topped with PB or cream cheese to give a licky treat vibe before getting to the hole that dispenses treats. The toy material has "give". It is hard, but it will yield to teeth. My one young dog (a large American yellow lab) likes to gnash her teeth against it. This lives up to it being a "chew" toy. They describe it well. The CUPS are what make this extra special for ME, as the mom, the provider of all the things my babies could ever desire. If I can make something simple for myself, then they benefit even more as I will be more consistent with what I do, and can offer them. The cups dont hold a lot, less than a Dogster(freezer section in stores), but I can make up a couple at a time, and toss them in freezer. I love that they have lids, I really love that it takes up very little room in my freezer. It find it lasts awhile. I have used canned food, I have used baby food, I have done a mix of dry foods and broth, etc. I have popped the freezer treat in, then topped rest of space with PB or creamcheese, or more wet food to give them extra lick time. I usually do the 2 cups per session.Because we liked this so much, I eventually ordered a total of 4 (various brands, they are all same). So now we have 8 cups, but usually only use 2 of the toys. I'd love to be able to buy just the cups! Now, if need be, for whatever reason, if the cups werent available the toy itself could be filled and placed in freezer. This would actually provide more space to fill up. But we havent done that. Some people mention that the top comes off easily. I havent noticed that. Even with dropping to dispense treats or when licking and gnawing none of my dogs have gotten the top off. I just make sure it is twisted on tight?Easy to clean. Very easy.DOWNSIDE:These are hard toys, and so when dropped to the bare floor it is loud. Not bad muffled by carpet, but totally bare floor is a little obnoxious. But it doesnt stop me from giving these to my babies nor has it damaged anything.Overall, we all love it. I think it is a thoughtful design, and coupons and sales make it a good value for a high valued toy. We get a lot of use out of this, and I like that it is good for dispensing and licky sessions. Keeps my dogs (especially my busy body young lab) active and engaged in a positive manner.Retail box makes it gift worthy.5 stars from us.
