I have to use wired internet in my home, and I have used several USB adapter dongles for my laptop over the last few years. But my laptop only has 2 USB ports and I wanted to free up one of them, so I decided to look for a USB-C internet cable because that is a port that I never use. And this worked for a little while, though I will say it got extremely hot to the touch when plugged in for long sessions, like 2+ hours. This cable didn't really work out for me. I wouldn't blame it entirely on the cable itself, but because of how I use my laptop. Largely in bed, and also taking it downstairs at least once a day, I'm moving it around and unplugging things and then plugging them in again almost constantly. This cable gave out after about two or three months, the USB-C plug got bent up and then died. So it was a nice idea, but I have determined that the USB-C route is just not the right solution for me. And while it was my situation that was mostly my problem with this cable, I also wouldn't recommend it outright because of the heat issue. I mean the adapter dongles I've had in the past, and have again now got a little warm, but this cable got really hot. I would graze it accidentally without thinking, and I would jerk my hand away like I thought I was going to get burned, that same type of response. So overall I would perhaps encourage you to consider other options before this particular cable.

Cutting down on amount of wifi in my environment. This works great. Cord is nice and long so I can move around easily.

Yeah it works if you need it for an emergency but not something to use constantly it overheats when large amount of data transferred
