Product is relatively easy to install, dealing with the Jeep is another story. One thing to note is installing this product will leave you with no way to install a standard license plate frame, as the lens extends to the plate holder just enough to get a plate in there, and that's all. Camera quality is okay, better than guessing, and there's no angle adjustment on the camera, just to state that.

Camera does fit in the location as advertised but had to file the clips down to make them fit more securely. From the time you put the jeep in reverse to the time the camera actually turns on takes 6 to 9 seconds on average... and the camera quality isn't the best but does get the job done.

It is a horrible quality image, I have installed hundreds of back up cameras over the last 25 and this is one of the worst, screen is wavy and grainy, installed how instructions said to wire it,

This customized Jeep camera solution is a good value and works well in my 2013 JK. . The installation is a little finicky but not bad. My total installation time was about 90 minutes. There were no instructions included but that wasn't a deal breaker for me. There are plenty of camera install videos on YT to give you the basics and the rest you can figure out. Removing the guidelines from the image is as simple as removing a jumper. No worries about cutting the wrong wire. Same for configuring NTSC or PAL. Just pull off the jumper. And there are labels indicating which wire does what.I've read other reviews where people had a difficult time getting the new camera/light frame to match up with the existing cover. In particular, getting the existing cover to seat in the camera assembly groove. I found that with steady pressure from my channel locks, the cover snapped into place.Having the camera not centered on the back of the vehicle takes some getting used to. However, the field of view and image quality are good. Not exceptional but good enough. If you're the slightest bit handy you can complete this installation even without instructions. Just take everything out of the box, stare at the parts, and after a few minutes you'll figure it out.

Despite the mixed reviews, I purchased this because of where and how it installed. I considered a camera in the spare tire, but this seemed like a hassle for the wire routing. It could have been done, but I just didn’t want to mess with it.I paired this camera up to a Sony ax5000 (which also gets 5 stars from me).The install was pretty simple if you understand basic wiring. JK wiring is a little wonky at the tail light. Everything online for 2016 was wrong. But a little trial and error got me to the correct wire. A red wire splicer helps as you can install and remove to move to another wire until you get the back up wire. The picture is great. I mean really great. I was expecting serviceable based on the reviews. This thing is crystal clear however.I did cut the white wire as grid lines don’t line up when you have it offset in this location. I also had to make one minor cut to the plastic on the license plate light. Just to make it sit in a little better. All this took me less than 3 minutes. I routed the wire inside the Jeep under the carpet to the wire bundle to the tail light cavity on the back left of the Jeep (5 minutes). You won’t be able to line up a trailer, but that is the only con I can offer. If you want an easy install with a good picture to make backing up a little safer, I don’t think you can go wrong with this.

It is okay. Because on a Wrangler JK the license plate is not centered, it was necessary to cut the wire to remove the "guide lines" on the image. Additionally, when I first installed the camera, there was a large amount of distortion or electrical noise on the screen. I originally posted a 2 star review due to this concern, but the seller contacted me and informed me I needed to cut the green wire associated with the NTSC/PAL mode. After doing this, most of the distortion has resolved. I've enclosed two images; before and after cutting the green wire. The colors are not very true to actual; brown items appear purple, but the image is good enough to distinguish obstacles. The seller noted that if I cover the IR lenses with electrical tape, the colors will be more natural, but it hinders night vision. As several other buyers described, it is necessary to shave down some of the plastic on the license plate frame to install this camera on a JK. Inexpensive, and the seller promptly responded to my concern. Update: the seller has determined that my noisy images are due to a defective camera and/or wiring and they have sent a replacement. They have been very responsive to my concerns and I'm upgrading them to 5 stars. I have not yet installed the replacement camera but their patient efforts and willingness to replace the camera to solve the electrical noise is worthy of 5 stars. Note that on a JK, the license plate gets filthy and you will be cleaning this camera often if you drive on wet or snowy roads. Perhaps if I were to do it all over again I would instead mount the camera on the hardtop above the spare to see whether it would stay a bit cleaner.
