Great product! I’ve come to really respect the way ESEE does business. To be honest, I will never use any of the stuff in a true survival situation but it’s fun playing with the stuff when I go camping.

PERMANENTLY stretched out where 5/16" WAD of survival cards were crammed into a single pocket. Now it won't hold Credit Cards, Drivers License, etc. They're so loose they fall out, and hit the ground as soon as you open the wallet. Flap Pockets are to shallow to hold standard sized Cards, and still close. NOT A WALLET, it's a gimmicky, overpriced piece of junk. Wish I hadn't wasted my money on it.

I just bought a second one for my father. I carry one with me constantly, and I've modified mine a bit. The cards contain great information, this is a well thought out, well put together survival wallet. I've carried mine daily for over a year and I really can't tell the difference between my old one and my dad's new one other than his is a bit cleaner. I've no frayed ends, loose strings, or ripped internal pockets. Great quality, well built product.

Its a decent little kit. Its small and has some useful tools for sure. It is a bit pricey for what you get. But the wallet case is awesome. great to add some of your own gear too, then you have the percent kit.

All good quality items and small package. I suggest modifying to your needs and taking each item and checking it. I had nothing missing or wrong but added a few tiny items to assist this kit. I have carried it on every outing and m/c trip. 4 stars? A little pricey for it.

After reading various websites, forum threads, reading many product reviews - both Amazon and other - I have a feeling that many people, certainly not all, but many, don't really know what this kit is. So before I go into reviewing the kit, I thought I'd take a minute to delve into what this kit is, and what it ain't.This kit is not a "survival kit" in the common sense of the word 'survive' as the modern day survivalist movement and bushcrafters know it. It isn't meant to have all the items included with it, tucked into the case it comes with, and be thrown in your bug out bag or back pocket. It's not meant to be the basis of a small survival kit. It's not meant, and not going to, get you out of being arrested, taken to jail, or to be used as some 'get out of jail free card'. It's not really even for the typical person - yes I mean it!Now, on to what this kit really is. This kit is meant to serve as the basis (note basis - not all inclusive) start to a good S.E.R.E. kit. The term S.E.R.E. is the military term for 'Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape'. Basically, this kit is meant to provided a few of the more civilian-ish items one might need if he or she were, say, in the military or black ops communities and was captured as a P.O.W. (prisoner of war) and needed to escape. However, there are a few other uses beyond the common military applications of this kit. Many photojournalists, world travelers, religious missionaries, and civilians involved in various humanitarian missions may also benefit from having this kit. But it isn't meant to be kept in the little black case it comes with, it is meant to be hidden on your body and clothing, layered if you will. A good example is using a seam ripper to open up the waistband of your pants and put along the circumference of the waist a length of the Kevlar cord, then sew the pants back up except a small hole where you can pull some of the cord through to cut flex ties, for example. One thing that I'm not sure of is why some people have said that their kits came with a titanium razor blade, but mine came with a zirconia ceramic blade measuring 3.0 x 1.0 x 0.07 cm.Also, I do agree with one reviewer that the one item that should be of better quality is the button compass. However, for the price paid, I can say that it's plenty good. If you want to upgrade, you could always order a model J582T tritium wrist compass from Cammenga to include in your own personal kit. But costing almost as much as the kit, obviously something like this couldn't be included in this kit for the price. But, something better is needed.Overall, I'm well pleased with my kit. I do plan on a few upgrades to my kit, including the Cammenga J582T Tritium Wrist Compass, a set of Bogota Titan Mini lock-picks, a small E.S.E.E. knife, a handcuff shim, a tinder-quick tab, a small tritium micro light, Kel-Tec P32 or Beretta Bobcat .22, water purification straw, Fresnel lens, and a non-lubricated condom to carry water. If you can think of any items that might be good in a SERE kit, please drop a comment below. I'd love to hear some ideas on this!

This kit is amazing! Every item is well made and very useful! The button compass is the only item that could be called "cheap" but for its size it is perfect for the kit and works very well! This kit is well worth the money and I highly recommend this gear to anyone and everyone!

In your glove box, back pack, camping gear, this could save your life in a hand package and since the apocalypse didn't happen you can set up a natural disaster kit good for 72 hours for a nice price now.
