It’s OK, but my dog hates the noise it makes and won’t go near it. I wish there was a way to turn the noise off.

My pup loves this product! Sound is encouraging. Only problem is you really need to find the right sized fill or it makes a real mess.

I bought a more intricate stimulation toy for my fur companion and she chewed it up day one. This was perfect for her. She can't fit her mouth around it and she nudges it to get the goodies. She's happy so I am happy.

Quality: B—This treat dispensing ball has thick, durable plastic housing with enough heft to be interesting, plus a giggle mechanism (like the toys from the 90s) to drive further engagement from your dog. The hemispheres, which are too big for me to palm but luckily feature ridges for grip, twist apart in order to be filled. Although there are 3 levels of dispensing speed, the larger and smaller holes are so similar that unless the food inside is a very particular size, there are effectively only two: fast, and half as fast. Instructions provided were pretty comprehensive, if a little poorly-worded at times, and featured plenty of tips and tricks for training your dog to use it.Effectiveness: B—The ball does dispense dry food at a varying rate depending on the speed setting and the size of the pieces at a very easy/beginner level of difficulty; all the dog has to do is get the food from the top half to enter one or two 1.5-2cm holes to fall to the bottom, and then out the 1.7x2.7cm dispensing hole. I have a little 13lb dog who was initially frightened of the sound the ball made, but he got over it pretty quick when I followed the suggestions in the booklet and he realized he could get treats out of this deal. I usually cut some of his treats up with scissors to be the ideal dispensing size/speed, and he gets to spend 15 minutes feeling like he's getting a near-constant stream of treats while actually not eating too many. This should work for any size dog, but smaller kibble will fall out too quickly so you might have to get some treats or food specifically to be used with this. The current "3" speed settings leave room for more to be added, this toy would be perfect if all of the available slots were filled with a greater variety of differently sized holes. Pretty easy to wash the outside surfaces of, but I wouldn't put anything truly messy (i.e. not solid) in there.Value: B—$24.90 list price seems about right for the strong plastic materials and complex design. I would recommend it to anyone that's looking for food-based light entertainment for their dogs that prefer more physical than mental stimulation, with the knowledge that their current food/treats may not be ideal for dispensing through this.
