This was my mistake for not reading the OD dimensions of this product even thu it stated, "This fits your car" needed a 1.97 od dia. and this one was a 2.56od dia. So it doesn't fit your car! Another product Amazon allows.

This thermostat would not fit in the recess on my 2003 Toyota Avalon. With the gasket surrounding the thermostat, the diameter was too large. I tried for nearly 45 minutes to get it into the recess. The gasket would just roll over and come off. I eventually removed the gasket and replaced it with the old gasket -- it popped right in without any effort.The new thermostat did resolve the engine temperature issue reported by the OBD tester. Therefore, the product functioned and offered reasonable value for the cost.I suggest buying extra gaskets that fit the 2003 Avalon V6 if you purchase this thermostat. I gave this product one star because the assembled diameter is something easily measured and checked by quality control.
