The tube was so long I cut it down but then it quit having any suction. Would not buy again.

The idea of this is fantastic. I love doing diamond art and using the wax pen can get a bit annoying when it needs to be reloaded. I thought this would be a great alternative, but after trying it I still like the wax pen. Once you get used to it, it’s pretty easy to move the diamonds, but I had a hard time getting used to putting my finger over the air hole and then lifting it. Maybe I’m just not that coordinated, but it was just a little trickier than the regular way. The hose and the pump didn’t bother me. They didn’t feel in the way and weren’t super loud. It was a nice machine, and worth a try. I could see it being really useful, I just couldn’t get used to it.

Not happy with the product. It was supposed to have many settings but there was only the highest setting that worked. Tubing was flimsy and collapsed on itself, and tubing was way too long. This was the more expensive one so I expected it to be better than the one I have already. The hole in the pen is a nuisance.

I've gotten several different pens to try out and this one is one of the quietest.I like that it has a dial knob to control the level of suction. The pen has different tips that are actually usable, unlike one that I got with the fattest tip that wouldn't let you get a drill next to another drill.I'm not a fan of the covering and uncovering the hole, I get the concept but no other one I've used needed this function. It is very thin as well.My main issue is the ridiculously long tubing! It is so long that it has about 10 kinks in it just to fit in the box it comes in. With work and time you can remove the kinks but why? Who is that far away from the motor? Why make the motor work more to suck air through a long tunnel? Maybe they expect us to cut it to size. I don't get it.It works but isn't my favorite.

We have tried a few of these vacuum diamond applicator setups. This one has a control on the vacuum pump that allows you to turn it on and then select how powerful the suction will be.I had expected this one to have a powerful vacuum since it had a 10 step control, well I was wrong. On the highest setting it was barely adequate and that was using tubing we had from another vacuum pen that had no kinks in it. The need to keep your finger over a hole in the pen is really an extra step that shouldn't be necessary. For something that requires a suction to be pulled through a tube you would think that steps would be taken to ensure the tubing isn't kinked when packaging.

The short review is that this... works. It's functional. And it's not super loud which is a bonus..However, it's... clunky. The primary power box is SO large, and while I'm sure the tubing can be trimmed to your liking- the included tubing for airflow is ridiculously long. But the biggest issue for me is the process of actually using the pen. While it's nice that multiple kinds of tips are included (straight, crooked, a cup one for larger irregular diamonds), the pen itself is as thin as the cheap throw-away pens that come in diamond painting kits. But in this case, you can't really put any kind of grip on them because it would cover the hole you have to operate with your thumb for the suction..Likely that will work fine for a lot of folks. But if you have grip issues, or problems like carpal tunnel, etc- this isn't the right pen for you. It's a good idea, but overall it's clunky, inefficient and for a lot of folks will be downright inaccessible.

To start, I don't use this for diamond painting. I use this to add stoning work to my costumes. It involves regular flatback rhinestones and E 6000 glue. This has cut my process time in half. No matter what tool I've ever used, I spend more time fighting the diamonds than I do actually getting anything done.Easy to assemble, you throw the thing together, and even without any knowledge of the different tips, they all work. I grabbed a random tip and it worked for even my smallest stones, and my largest ones. The suction is adjustable, although I have found that it works with even the small suction and still works with the most suction. To save the motor I'll use somewhere in between. Speaking of the motor, it's extremely quiet. For some reason, I expected it to be the noise level of a nail file, but it's more of a slight hum.The hose that connects the pen to the motor is comically long, although you could cut it because it's just a tube, it's actually pretty nice to have a very long like that.If you don't read any instructions, here's one thing you'll need to know to make it work: there is a hole on the pen that you have to cover with your finger for it to work. When you let go, the suction is gone and the bead drops. That's the magic. And boy is it.The price was awesome, and I'm really happy with what I got and probably would've paid a lot more for it. There are other similar ones that are priced well above this, which I understand, but why get those when you could help this one? I have zero complaints and I'm really excited!
